aiya u guys keep discuss say the 90cfm fan led kaput... i scare liao lar.. my red led 90cfm delivering to me today getting tomolo. 4 units.
gonna move my current red led normal cm fan to the top and bottom and put the 90cfm at the side.
gonna get 1 blue LED 90cfm also. then another 4 XLF fan.
gonna have a total of 13 fan in my HAF including the stock front red led 230mm fan =D
on second thought maybe only 12 coz the sidefan the one the top left kenot stack 2 fans. my V8 blocking =.=.
final fan setup should be like this
side panel - 7 fans (6 intake [90cfm+40cfm stack] 1 exhaust [90cfm])
front intake (stock 230mm red led + 90cfm blue on drive bay)
bottom intake (xigmatek XLF 120mm [this one need filter]. will swap up and down with the front blue 90cfm intake to see which one look better)
top exhaust (3x xigmatk XLF 120mm)
back exhaust (xigmatek XLF 120mm. if can find 140mm XLF sure swap =D)
vizo UV violet chathod to put at the left and top of the motherboard. (if possible wanna find violet light non UV coz it should be brighter and i dun have any UV reactive stuff in my PC.)
will start with 4 new red 90CFM fan tomorrow. photo coming up.
if u were to ask why one blue fan of all my red and orange fan here is my answer
= i wanna make it like police car look =D. like what i did with my previous CM690. really nice. now my friend's cosmos S also blue and red. our police car theme lol
gonna take photo of it and post it here soon. just wait till i got chance to go his house again.
bring tripod and camera xD
i should be getting one elite for my dad's rig build with my E8600 which is set aside to collect dust now =.=.
dam sad that hyper212 can't fit elite.. gonna have to find other cooler.
@koki
never and NEVER recommend total put 120mm fan on HAF sidepanel for exhaust. u can't just rely on the front and bottom for intake. it is always better to feed ur system air. exhaust only at the part that needed.
those that are not using casing like HAF that have massive side intake is different because like CM 690 or cosmos. they have bottom intake and top exhaust so the air will flow through the component therefore cool down the components in the case.
if u put 4 120mm fan as exhaust at the side of HAF. the air haven't collide with the component already exit the case = useless.
i tested friends thermalright true 120 extreme on passive. no fan at all.
sidepanel open on HAF with no intake fan. it overheat pass 90C on overclocked setting.
with side panel close with 4 fan. 3intake 1exhaust by default as i install for my system. temp never cross 80.
depending on ur casing and ur component u have to manage ur air flow differently.
i choose load of intake with dust over dustless with lesser cooling. just put filter to ur fan if u are so afraid of dust. keeping the component cool should always be a priority. but remember to clean the internal once a while lar ahhaha. we also have to drink water to clean our internals marh. hahaha
hope i don't bored ur guys =D
i should have my photo up by tomorrow after i install the fan
