Best way is to go for facial once a while and then maintain with home skin care such as a facial scrub. The only way that really removes the blackhead for me is through extraction by the beautician.

Wait, what? o_o Are you sure you completely squeezed the blackhead out? And when you say that it reappears after five hours, is it the exact same blackhead at the exact same pore?

I've invested in a blackhead remover, it's basically this metal/stainless steel tool that has a small loop, which you use to press the pore. The advantage it has is that it applies even pressure as it forms a "circle" of pressure around that offending pore, which is hard to achieve if you're squeezing using your fingers.

Take a look, here's an example of a blackhead remover. http://www.amazon.com/Tweezerman-Whitehead...r/dp/B0006PLPBC

It's been an invaluable tool for me; great for squeezing pus-filled pimples out too. You might want to consider getting one yourself, if you haven't already got one.

Try this. Very effective to me, been using for 2 3 years. RM11x.

It's selling at Kose counters but I dono why they never display it on the shelf but u can ask for it. It's best for black/white head removing, but its kinda strong so i'll advice to use it like once in 2wks. the result is super satisfying when u peel off n c everything stick on the mask biggrin.gif

oh make sure u toner ur skin aftr the mask ya

I use the narakashiwa charcoal mask every week, cheap and effective. Got people sell in the ladies' section, you can go there and search. But I heard that it can be bought at Daiso also, not sure about that.

i went for facials at different places a while back.. some place they poke using the needle, it hurts like hell! my nose felt crooked n red! hahaha..they even poked at my acne! ouch! never goin to that place again..i went 1 place in alor star, used laser..felt a bit sting, but better..

i used Biore Strip, quite useful on the nose..but since i have blackheads at d sides of my nose, on the cheek, quite difficult to remove that..

i get advice from my beutician, she inform that the best way to remove the blackhead is RAJIN cleaning our face and dare to wash for twice evrytime we washing our face (this only applicable if you are using soft cleanser, or else, your skin will be get irratated); often do facial under your beutician instruction. smile.gif

Do your own extraction, actually its very important to maintain your skin when it is still in good condition. When dirt starts accumulating your pores will become larger and then the problem will be endless.

Wash your face and hands
Use hot water pour into a small pail, use towel to cover and steam your face for about 2 - 3 mins.
When your face is hot, your pores will open.
Use a needle and poke/punture at the entrace of the black head, and then you can easily extract without much pain. you can use the metal extractor or just finger nails covered with tissue, when you press, do not apply full pressure, you just maintain pressure and rotate where you press, do not press at the same spot.
Make sure everything is clean.

After the extraction you can do face mask to cool down with toning to close back your pores, wash with cold water.

I always do myself.

our face is like our hair, the more you wash the more oil it'll produce this is how our body work, some people will have oily skin and some is dry. Good and bad, those with oily skin will get less wrinkle and those dry skin like myself will get wrinkles easily.

Justo to share, if you girls don't want to do extraction, you may try to use Cellnique's Sebum Gel. Seriously, it removes blackheads in ten days. But for me, it took a fortnigth to see visible results. I used to get my nose really sore and red with all the extraction, only to have them coming back again. All the best in finding the right one for you. smile.gif

I use Biore pore packs to remove my blackheads... i used to have lots of blackheads + whiteheads that had been there for years...!!
Try using them once EVERY DAY after a warm shower and do it diligently. You'll find that with frequent use, the dirt / blackheads in your nose will be removed slowly ... and that leaves your pores to shrink back to it's (hopefully!) original size. smile.gif

If after 5 hours the blackhead appears again it mean u probably didn't squeeze out the blackhead entirely. Best is to exercise (eg: vigorous jogging, hiking, play sports) anything to sweat continously for an hour. Then ur blackheads will drop out on its own the day after. Blood circulation helps the body remove impurities from the skin. The thing about girls is that we rarely sweat enough or keep active enough. sweat.gif Drink lotsa water too.

And, erm as for myeslf, i use normal soap (like Lux - u know the square soaps) to wash face. And i nvr had balckhead b4. Ppl gasp wen they find out, but wen using normal soap, just use a little bit, no need to lather til alot of bubbles and it wun be tough on ur skin.

My 2 cents. smile.gif

Whatever stuff you try for your blackheads, you will need to do over and over again. Blackheads are not caused by dirt ,so no matter how hard you wash your face, you will keep getting blackheads especially on the area of your nose where the concentration of sebaceous glands are very high.

Your blackheads will only stop to occur when the androgen hormone in your body are regulated and stabilised. It is the response of the our body to the immense androgen hormone (normally called the male hormone) that get our sebaceous glands to produce more sebaceous oil.

This oil coupled with abnormal shedding of skin in the area surrounding the follicle hairs make the oil trapped inside the pores and lead to the development of blackheads and whiteheads which might turn to acne lesions.

That is why you will always need to do "something" to remove those blackheads of yours. Even though facial treatment which include blackheads extraction can make you happy to be cleared of blackheads, the blackheads will come back in a few days. Take note also the oil that we wipe off from our face will come back within 30 minutes after the process.

Guess we will have to live with the condition till our body gives the signal to stop it.

hmmm.... i don really have serious black head prob but will have them too...

here is what i normally use to get rid of them... not permanent though... but useful for me...

you'll need
- baking soda (can get from bakery shop)
- facial cleanser (any cleanser will do)

1. squeeze some of your cleanser on your balm (same amount like your normal cleansing)
2. put some baking soda on the cleanser and put 1 or 2 drops of water (warning : water will dissolve the baking soda and might cause burning on the skin, only put 1 to 2 drops to mix the baking soda and cleanser will be enough)
3. scrub over your nose or/and face (if you face have same prob) in circular motion for just 5 to 10 second... i repeat... is SECOND not minute... this will need to do in fast way if not the baking soda will start burning ur skin... *sound dangerous hahahaha*
4. wash off after the scrubing... now you can squeeze your blackhead out easily with just your finger... not with nails ya~ just the finger tips! biggrin.gif

hopefull it helps... tongue.gif

I use baking soda too! But I just mix the soda with water, then spread the paste onto your nose, wait for 15 minutes or so then scrub it off. Remember to use toner after that. It's super effective for me, my nose is really smooth after that and the blackheads reduced noticeably smile.gif

Dont squeeze the blackheads out by yourself as it will make it become more serious and will grow even more. This is because we normally do not know the proper way of how to squeeze out blackheads or pimples, we thought that it will become clean after squeezing out. In fact, there is still dirt inside as we did not squeeze thoroughly. This eventually will make the pores become bigger, allow blackheads or pimples, whiteheads to grow faster. Go to facial and let the beauticians do it for you. After doing facial, u may apply skincare to maintain your skin smile.gif

Squeezing is not the solution. And facials are just a temporary solution. you need to use product that contains salicylic acid after your cleansing routine to control the oil secretion which will pevent blackheads as well as acne. Oh yea, blotting your face regularly to remove excess oil also helps smile.gif

i would recommend you to use cellnique blackhead serum or Skin Renew Black Head Sebum. Both is workable for me. But, personally feel that SkinRenew better.

Use it for few days to soften ur blackhead then only squeeze softly. It wont make ur pore to be bigger.

Facials may actually agitate the skin more. use a facial scrub for blackheads and acne-prone skin. Keep your face clean and oil-free so that dirt will not accumulate and viola! No blackheads. This is the cheapest and best long term solution.

what i learnt from the american, they washed their faces with wet towels soaked in warm water..so while they're washing off they rub their face gently..hence removing whitehead and blackhead effectively..

does it really works?

because i heard from my senior before, is better to do facial to extract out the black heads and the oily beads on the face.

the thing is to do it every monthly, her face looks better but i forgot to ask her where she did it doh.gif

and apparently, according to the many beauticians, is better not to use a peel off strips bcoz it'll make the pores larger.

so taking in the advice, currently i'm only doing scrub weekly and wash twice daily.

sugar makes a good scrub on ur face and it's good for the skin too. and i use ah yuan's soap to wash face heh heh.. cheap! thumbup.gif

shu li, baking powder method has been around for soooo long but nobody actually markets it because it's so cheap and the cosmetic companies want to promote their own stuff which is way more expensive. to say it's not scientifically proven, there are countless threads and forums that attest to the baking powder method, a lot i read from western countries.

heard mary kay is quite good tho, but i haven't tried it.
