Teck as in Tech?

Did they get their spelling right?

Site says USD170 for bulk of 1000 sets = RM629 each unit.
P1Wimax is selling it for RM999 each.

I saw Alibaba wholesale site offering these modems for cheap

Shenzen Natural Technology Co Ltd.

Is this Shenzen company an outsource manufacturer or someone came out from Huawei to establish a new startup?

maybe they are sharing the same mold design with other manufacturer to save cost.P1 modem is made in taiwan, u can find it from the label on the bottom of modem.. thumbup.gif

The company is Taiwan based but production is in China.
Maybe the design were done by Taiwan engineers but manufacturing they set up in China to save costs?

P1 might have bought those oem modems in bulk and reconfigure/repackage them.

List price is USD170 but I guess they might have got them cheaper.

Looks like P1 follows the Malaysian trend, use the lowest costing parts as long as it blinks, then wait for $$ to roll back in.

Malaysia... 'Truly Asia....'

We all where can afford good stuffs one?

People in other countries pay less but their currencies have 2-3 times our buying power.

So if we pay RM100, Singaporeans pay SGD50, still they get the more expensive stuff.

TM supplies us with cheap Riger modems, Singtel offer 2Wire 4 port routers to their customers.

After I buy, how to use in the P1 network?

It won't happened unless you have access to their registration system.

The modem's MAC address have to be registered into their system before it can gain access to P1's network

And how you know about it? You working there? Tried it before?

Based on WiMAX Forum standard, the authentication process is using EAP-TTLS but not based on mac address. I login to the admin page before they change the password, the authentication field comes with username/password and some other things. I believe they are following the standard as it should be.

Any comment?

Yes MAC addressing is used here.
It's the only unique fixed data that is to be used to generate the certs used for EAP-TTLS authentication.
