The thing about Weatherford is, they are not highly systematic or bureaucratic as it's a young & dynamic company. So, interview wise would be pretty simple, non of that Shell-type mumbo-jumbo assessment this and that.
Good luck!

To didilicious, may I know which engineering background are you from?
mech / chem or any others? does they take any other engineers rather than both the engineering field I mentioned??

gonzapod,

electrical...but the post was Cementing (totally not electrical)...
i think they will hire if u got the quality that they r looking for...
working n study background is different, if u r willing to learn new thing with right attitude...anywhere u go, u will survive...

crapster,

thanks...i just came back from the interview session...just like a long discussion, nothing complicated...but what ever it is, its just based on luck,rite...

do u know its salary range...i request for RM4k with 2 1/2 non related working experience, do u think they will hire me?

Hmm, I wouldn't say 'it's just based on luck'. We make our own luck, that's what I think.

Anyway, just to put things into perspective, a fresh grad with zero experience gets rm3k at Weatherford. For me rm4k with 2.5years non-related experience seems reasonable enough.

Well, I have been interviewed last year by their D&E operations manager, ex-precision drilling manager..a very simple interview..u just need to lend ur ear and ready to answer any of his technical questions..I have studied and learnt by myself on the jobscope and even read the technical stuff because of my deep interest for that position..

I think I had impressed him by my technical answers although I am from chemical plant background..I land the job a week after the interview..

Good luck buddy!

Exactly 1 year experience..they considered my exp as non-related to O&G industry so they paid me fresh grad basic salary..I applied online and waited for 6 months before they called me..

They sent me to Australia a week after that..It was a remote area for landrig drilling operations..Life sucks overthere where I am the only Muslim in that small town..Hard labour work with only fish, vegie and egg to eat..I am suffered, felt my body getting weaker and weaker and prone to sick..I am not happy....

From that moment I was thinking of quit the job and work in Malaysia..And luckily I got a call from a company but for another position..I have done my calculations and concluded that I can get the same pay if I work in Msia with this company..

I quit after I came back to Msia and join that company..thanks God for His Mercy!!

So Didi, sorry I cant provide you about their benefits and bonus as I joined them less than 3 months..But the thing is I am happy now..smile.gif

@didilicious

They give a lot for offshore allowance, last time i heard it was around usd 250/day for someone with 2 year experience ,hehe.....but that is for my line of work, other business unit, due to different nature of work, gives different offshore rate if im not mistaken....

At Weatherford, you only get the 1 month contractual bonus. Though engineers get allowances since there is a need to travel around, either to offshore or supply bases. It's through these allowances that earns the money. Other benefits are nothing worth mentioning, although the working culture here means you get A LOT of freedom... ALOT....

Still in one of big 4...I really desperate to get a job at that time..I push them to conduct the interview for me before I go to US Academy that will bonded me with WFT for 2 years..I am lucky to get the offer from this company and am willing to start all over again with this new position..

Just to share my experience with u guys.. smile.gif
