Hey guys, Long time listener first time caller lol,
Found the thread probably a year ago, but then my pc crashed so I kind of misplaced it, but thanks to the miracles of application data backups, I'm here and ready to post!

I'm 20 from US, addicted to almost every anime I've seen, but Zoids still tops them all.

I'm huuugely addicted to Zoids, I have been for about 8 years since I was addicted to the show, I got my first models in the middle of 2007 and it's all been down from there... for my bank account anyway.

I got almost all of my zoids models within a two month span back then, and at the time it included;
Shield Liger x2
Blade Liger
Liger Zero x2
Saber Tiger
Brachiosaur
Death Stinger
Gojulas Giga
RedHorn
Redler
Gustav x2
Molga
Gun Sniper(Recently fell, the bar that goes through the neck is broken, but still holds together just fine)
Helcat

I also managed to not pay attention and get a few action figures, not as huge on them, especially for their small stature, but I love them nonetheless, Not entirely sure on what all of them are, DarkHorn, Lightning Saix, Gun Sniper Leena Special, Saber Tiger, Liger Zero, and three weird ligers I'm not familiar with(They were all opened with no packaging)

Since then I've been on a building hiatus until Christmas, I recently ordered my newest addition, A Gordos(Awesome price too, Got two of them shipped for under $40 USD http://www.gundamstoreandmore.com/tom56431.html Still going as I'm writing this) I also plan on possibly buying an HMM soon, I've got some painting stuff, and I figure I'll probably just do like, a few parts a day for sanity and quality sake, but it's been a debate for a long time lol, so who knows.

Out of the models I have, I built all of them except for;
Gustav x1(Broken radar and crappy stickering)
Saber Tiger(Missing a gun I believe)
Liger Zero x1(Was missing a connecting piece for the claw, glued it, and removed all the Zero Armor pieces and painted them blue)

I can post some individual pics if for some reason anyone wants to see them, I'll attach a pic that has the majority of my collection, I believe it cut off Redhorn, Brachiosaur, The Gustavs, and Saber Tiger.

All of my models are built, all except the first several I built I spent a decent amount of time on, shaved the tree attatchments carefully, looked for major seams, etc. I don't buy to collect boxes, as I want them to have as a collection of zoids, and not packages, and I have no intention of selling them.
I have however kept nearly every box, and almost every box still has the plastic bags and parts trees in them, and somewhere I have a little thing with the extra parts, and extra caps, but I'm not sure where I ended up placing it.(No clue what releases my models were, as I said, I have all the boxes, but they're tucked away so I'm not going to go look unless it's dire or I magically get enough space to display them well.)

I'm a huge fan of all this stuff, as is my girlfriend, and it's great to find more people who not only know what zoids is(since that's rare enough), but love and collect them probably more than myself!

Well, here's the pic of my collection majority, and like I said, if for some reason anyone's interested, I can take/post individual pics.

And on another note, Just curious as to how long uploading has been disable, if it's likely to stay in a permanent disabled state, or if it was a recent thing. Can't stand not having a good avatar lol.

Oh heavens no,
I'm just here as it seems like a really good place to be.

To see rare and interesting zoids, apparently to find out that singapore still has zoids floating around, or anywhere else someone travels, where the HMM's can be purchased, since I still haven't even seen a blade liger HMM on an english site, and just be in an active Zoids thread with what seems like a bunch of nice enthusiasts of a common hobby.

Yeah, I've poked through a fair bit of the thread between now and then, last time I was reading up in here was during I think the last gathering,
I've poked here and there looking at some of the builds, I loved a few of the HMM's, especially Irvine's Command Wolf, and it looks like you've got a red blade liger in your sig if I'm not mistaken, I'd almost give my car for one lol.

Oh yeah, I forgot in my last post,
I laughed a bit when you said I had a nice display cabinet,
It's a $30 USD cheap-o wooden wal-mart bookshelf.

I still like is more than most other bookshelves though, so it serves the part well.

I don't know of anything for wall to wall shelving short of just getting a little dirty with some plywood, but I have been considering getting another shelf or two(not for the zoids, since my collection is far short of it being a necessity) They have a nice gloss black, as well as the gloss white I have, and I think alternating them side by side would look very cool no matter how far you went, and for 30 bucks a piece, a whole shelf costs less than most of my zoids lol.

As for Zoids being on the brink of extinction here in the US, It's a bit far past that, they are nowhere to be found, I lucked out that someone I knew, knew someone who had a bunch of models they no longer wanted, so I drove the two hours to buy them all as followed;
Geno Saurer
Liger Zero with ALL THREE INTERCHANGEABLE ARMORS
Elephander
(Those three were built, all slightly broken)

And the Death Stinger, Gun Sniper, and Brachios that became my first zoids, all were in their boxes still.

Turned out his mom was disappointed he sold all his years old birthday presents, so I drove two hours there again, he let me keep the ones that weren't built yet, and gave me my money back for the others, so for four hours driving, I got the Death Stinger, Gun Sniper, and Brachios(Not too bad a deal to start my collection)

Other than that, I've yet to see a Zoids outside of my collection(And my girlfriends now started collection biggrin.gif)

Everything else has been between ebay, and a few websites, and fortunately I didn't rush through them once i ordered them
(Of course, I got my first ZOIDS EVER, so I rushed.... pulled pieces off of trees, snapped together, done, no trimming, supreme laziness, really need to redo them)

And as for the Redler ahtiven, I actually want to hang it from the top shelf in between Gojulas Giga and Death Stinger, I just re-organized them the day I posted, so I haven't gotten around to the hanging yet. No prey, just boring old Giant Robot Bird with a huge ass blade on its tail.

you drove back and forth total of 4 hrs for zoids?! AWESOME! Yea its sad to see people letting go their precious classics but fortunately his mum wanted to keep some for old time sake. BUT still those are great grabs and worth the time traveled for them since it is so hard to find them now well at least in their boxes.
*
Eh, it was 4 hours back and forth two times, I drove 8 hours for those zoids now that I think about it, since it was 2 hours there, then back, then there and back again, not counting getting lost like an idiot lol.

Totally worth it to be at the collection I have now, to think I could have something practical with that money instead.

Eh, Zoids win flat out, lol

The brachiosaur or whichever release you choose to call it by isn't too bad, my girlfriend is buying one for 20 offline, the gun sniper I tend to see floating around for 15-20, and The Death Stinger looks like it can be had for 40 USD, and who knows what for shipping, but all in all, 80 bucks worth anywho, and the time spent looking for them and waiting for them, worth the eight hours.

I wish I could have kept the Liger Zero CP's though, it hurt to give them back more than anything >.<
Oh well, I've been seeing them around here and there for different prices, right now there's a panzer and schneider for 65 usd each, hopefully they don't get too much higher than that before I have the money.

And as for missing the fun, Hopefully this doesn't all die out, and there's more fun to be had!

Whoa... I'm guessing that your friend might have found out the real value of the Ligers+CPs after he sold 'em to you. tongue.gif

These CPs went for 100- 150usd MIB each at their peak 2 years back. And 8 hours is crazy dude, the most I've spent was 2 hours round trip just to get that one particular Zoids. With public transports, that is. lol

I'd suggest you to look into ebay.com.my for some good Zoids deals, Castro. Trust me.

I dont know about .my, but most of my zoids I get through ebay, I do a quick ebay check, then poke around google, it brings me through the uk ebay, australian etc.

And as I said, all the stuff was used, most of it was semi-broken, not one of the cp's was completely intact, and you can pick up a liger zero for 40 or so nowadays anyway.

Yeah, I honestly haven't dont much actual bidding, most of it I just grab a buy it now, since they tend to pop up just as much, and I've been kicking myself in the butt for not just grabbing a few other cheap zoids from GSAM, as there were several for like, 3 bucks and up, but oh well.

I'm not all that talented with these models, as anyone can twist a piece out of plastic and take a knife to shave the plastic down flush, so I'm kind of scared to get a HMM, but I'm also still just as tempted, if I do, It will either be a several day can't-stop-building project, or it'll last months feverishly taking a day at a time to make every single part perfect, won't really know until I get one, but you guys will know if i do lol.

I would love to see some new zoids models coming out, especially if they did a whole new release, with many of the originals.
I don't expect to ever see the cp's come out again, at least not for Liger Zero, but perhaps limited edition sets of Liger Zero with one or all interchangeable armors.
Or I can't even fathom them releasing HMM's of Liger Zero and his CAS... I think those would sell out in days no matter how many they made...

Don't mind that puddle... I just drooled a bit thinking about that.

Poking around a bit, just noticed this;
http://www.yesasia.com/us/zoids-ez-034-gen...-0-en/info.html

Is it just me, or is that a pretty good deal, especially to be new in a store?
Perhaps all the non-english text is telling me something important, like it's an empty box or something?

This, I think there is a fat chance of Kotobukiya releasing Liger Zeros + etc. Only after they're done toying with HMM Iron Kong mould I guess. PK, Yeti, MKII wow!

Added on December 28, 2009, 12:07 pmIt's a reissued GenoBreaker (TAKARATOMY instead of TOMY) hence the higher price. IMO it's a good price as YESASIA provides international shipping.
*
It just seems like a pretty cheap price for it, and I realized I was wrong about the zoids I had gotten from the original kid, it was a Geno Breaker, not geno saurer.

Either way it was broken, so I'm not to distraught about it.

Oh man though, if they ever did release HMM Liger Zero kits, people would pay 150 for them easy... at least I know I would.
Oh well, I'll just go on waiting until i can afford to buy some originals, or at least, until i befriend all of you guys and find a fountain of youth so I can outlive you all.

Lol

Good to hear, I just joined up, hopefully there are some cool things going on there as well as what's going on here.

Now I just need to remember to check two forums >.<

And not that it's a huge deal, but my Zoids collection has just deteriorated by a factor of 1
(Gave my slightly broken Gustav to my girlfriend today, I'm short on room, she's got extra space, and her Gordos and Zeke needed a friend)

I think I would just explode if I were able to go somewhere filled with zoids, or even if I knew someone else who had zoids lol.

What are the differences between Vahn's Shield Liger and the regular Shield Ligers?
I'm not sure what releases my Shield Ligers were, I believe they were different boxes, i still have the boxes in my shed, but they were identical as far as I could tell.

Also at Ed, how much painting did you put into your IK? It looks great, and for the most part it looks like its still the original colors, if I could get away with having an amazing looking HMM like that without having to do too too much painting it would make it so much more attainable.

Haha, I have to say it's probably the first time I've ever seen a robotic ape giving someone the finger.

So, probably a stupid question, but I couldn't really find anything that seemed like an answer in my searches,

Are the Zoids neoblox and legend series much smaller sizes than the regular tomy and hasbro model kits I've gotten so accustomed to?

So regardless of size, they still wouldn't quite fit into a large zoids montage? Just curious as this site I'm poking through has a few zoids I like, but they're blox and legend series, didn't know if I could sneak them into my collection without it looking too silly, Guess I'll skip it for the time being.

Oh yeah, does anyone know about the Liger Zero KZ-01DX set with all three armors?
Is the KZ line a different size, is it an action figure rather than a model, or something else?

Couldn't really find any information about it.

Oooh, any chance you could pop that blox redhorn next to a regular redhorn?

Just seems like it would make the differences a little easier for someone half asleep like me to notice lol.

I see, I don't care too much about die cast parts or not, just wasn't sure if it was the standard scale or not, or something totally different(like a super posable model as opposed to the model kits I love so much)

Saw a place that has them in stock for 225, and as one cp costs upwards of 100USD anyway, seemed like it might be a steal of a buy, if it was the right thing.

Oh well, as it stands I'm hopefully waiting for a DiBison and a Wild Weasel Unit =)

If only I had a Command Wolf... I could have all three possible combinations from New Century Zero!

Hahaha, Amazing eBay.
I get an e-mail "Get what you REALLY wanted!"
Items like the ones you've recently looked at;
(It's a bunch of fishing lures, the brand is Sea Striker)

As for the scale, its 1/100 as mentioned by Rider.

Hmm... I didn't know it came with all the CP units? I eBay-ed and found KZ Liger 0 BIN at 71usd and separate CP units BIN at 65usd each.

mmm what do you mean by this?
Fishing stuff? I think you and Ed have a lot more to talk. lol
*
http://www.toy-wave.com/eng/detail.php?id=11188&table=07e

Found that when I was browsing, I couldn't find ANY info about it online, but if it's 1/100 I wouldn't really want it either, not at that price anyway.

And by the Command wolf thing I was referring to the anime Zoids: New Century Zero, since they started with
Shield Liger, DiBison, and Command Wolf, then they had Liger Zero, DiBison, and Command Wolf, then Liger Zero, Command Wolf, and Gun Sniper.

Since I'll have all of them but the Command Wolf when I get my DiBison it'd be cool to get the command wolf and have the mains from the series.
Although I guess I forgot about Pteras... oh well, they never use him anyway =P

And as for the fishing thing, I don't fish, but I looked for the Sea Striker(Sinker) model, so it took the name and gave me fishing stuff as a suggestion lol.

Like I said, if it was at least the normal scale i would consider it, but it's not worth the money for a 1/100 to me.

I've still been seeing 1/72 Panzer and Jager kits for USD 65 on ebay, schneider is non-existant and I'm going to guess it'll stay that way, so who knows.

With those BIG teeth, it will make a good candidate for Darlie advertisement! biggrin.gif

@ahtiven: impressive grabs, man.
I need those Bootlegs like NOW!

I agree, where can you even get those bootlegs?
And are they cheap or in the same price range as tomy and hasbro zoids?

These are definitely cheaper than official Zoids and of course that explains the poor quality/packaging/paintjobs/etc.

I couldn't find any online store selling these bootleg Zoids, best bet now is to hunt them locally at brick-and-mortar shops. Best would be around Asian region as these were produced from China? :/

Funny as Transformers collectors usually detest bootlegs even they are 99% exactly the same. And here we are reading the shortest bootleg Zoids review. lol
*
Ugh, looks like no luck for me then, I would guess the chances of finding any bootlegs in america are about nil, so unless they come up online I'll just have to keep buying the official models.

Oh well, just as fun either way in my eyes!

I never thought that trying to find bootlegs would be harder than officials!

the problem now is difficulty in obtaining these bases. I belief they ran out. The chain base 1 2 & 3 doesn't stack properly with 4 5 and 6 and now they came out with mobile base7 8 and 9 i belief. The hardest to get now are the first releases which i think i need about 10 sets to display all the HMMs which will cost me $$$$$$$$$$$

I am contemplating to built my recently acquired OJRs... Iceblazer, gul tiger, king liger and DX base. They are very tempting. Dont know which angle to look at....value or collection? or collection and value?
*
My view of the angles is more along the lines of...
Build to keep as a collection
Or save to sell in the future.

Needless to say, every Zoid I get is built as soon as I sit down.

Never been one to collect something for value, otherwise I probably would have done a refurbishing job on my Commodore 64 to try and sell it.

Collect to enjoy!!!

Buy to keep and sell if there is an emergency? Does that work? Not like Zoids is a good investment though, compared to Transformers; due to demand.

I really need to take apart and clean the hell out of my zoids, I started with a few of them, but I usually lose one or two caps to stretching, and I only have so many spares >.<

Hmm, anywhere by chance that sells replacement caps?
I would completely redo everything I have!
