A Guide for Simcity 4 & Rush Hour

Customize city size and location.

1. Create a new region. Must be entirely new one(totally flat). Old city cannot work. (including those that u had edited the landscape also consider old one)
2. Exit the game.
3. Go to your simcity 4 save game.
4. Go into your newly created region folder.
5. There is a bitmap(BMP) picture in it.
6. Use photoshop to edit it.
7. When you open the picture u will see different colors.

Small city = true red color =color code is (255, x , x)
Medium city = true green color = color code is (x, 255, x)
Large city = true blue color = color code is (x, x, 255)

x = any number as long it is below 150. I recommend below 150 so that u can see the color different and still within main color. Never set other color to 255. Ex. Small city red must 255, other must not 255.

Each small city map is represent by a square block of SINGLE pixel. Zoom in and start editing your picture.
Each medium city map is represent by a square block of FOUR pixels in the same color.
Each Large city map is represent by a square block of SIXTEEN pixels in thr same color.

Larger region or customize your region.

Simcity create a default region size of 16x16 pixel = total number of 256 pixels. That means you can create a total of 16 large size cities.

However we can customize our region size also. Try to resize the picture size.

for example I can create a 32x32 pixel region that is 4 times as larger as the default size.

You can also create a long rectangle region. Ex. 32x8. You can also create a smaller region 6x6, 8x8. All it depends on your design.

You create a region of 128x128. But I will not recommend it. Because it will lag and take ages for loading the city...and to build such big region it takes a lot of time.

The most I tried on my last old AXP1700+ system with 512MB of RAM is 48x48. I am not sure how much the newer PC AMD64, Intel Prescott can handle.May be these PC can handle more. But A 32x32 is a very very very very large region already. A 64x64 will lag a bit and it will require a team of members to create this super region.
