hi..can anyone  tell me is ucsi pharmacy good??=)

this is like an insult to those who did and who are doing pharmacy in IMU. Did you/Are you doing pharmacy in IMU?

if u coming to UK for pharmacy course, go for a better university when you are paying about the same for a reputable and so-so uni.

hmm...juz take it as i love a so-so university... : ) and wat reputable uni u recommend?

anyone heard of studyin pharmacy in indonesia?? which uni in indonesia is better in indonesiaa? any pharmacist in msia is graduated from indo?? i got consider indonesia cuz local quite hard to get in..

ok.. let put it this way. just go have a look at the salary pharmacists are getting here in malaysia and over in uk and take into consideration the living cost as well.

i highly doubt anyone would want to return to malaysia so soon after graduated especially when one has a job over there, considering the various factors not forgetting the responsibility of a community pharmacist in both country is so different. job satisfaction would be another important factor to consider as well

nott has great reputation over in uk but monash malaysia has to rely on the reputation they has over in australia still for their pharmacy degree.

if you are considering getting back the money your parents invested in your education the fastest as you can, i think uk would be a better choice.

what is really holding you back anyway? afraid of being homesick?

ps: i am working as a pharmacist assistant earning 17 per hour before tax. i am talking about australia btw.

assuming you paid the fees in pound and you are earning pound, how long would it take for you to get back all the money?

nott did offers high achiever fees waiver as well. nott definitely worth trying

it does actually. in terms of how does the qualification weigh in malaysia, they put it the same, but what you actually learn, they are different.

can anyone tell me imu or ucsi pharmacy is better?
heard tht imu is starting e-learning ,fees are more exp than ucsi
on the other hands,ucsi examination are tougher

If I were in your shoes I'd go for Monash if I have the ability to gain admission and pay the fees.

almost everyone studied pharmacy at ucsi hates the top figure running the course. so it is your choice. rumors have it that she would not allowed everyone to pass any subject. someone has to fail, that is her golden standard.

anyway, i believe ucsi is going through a transition period with them failing to retain the good lecturers, so stay away for the moment?
IMU vs monash, not really in a position to comment anything but 2+2 option is definitely more tempting than locally done degree. facilities, experience in conducting the course, lecturers qualification should be taken into consideration as well. speak to the students, past or present, the lecturers, not marketing people, not your parents friends or random people around the net.

speaking of over-rated, pharmacy course in monash is kind of over rated as well. of course they do have world class reputation for many things, but pharmacy at sunway campus? not yet.

even the credit transfer option to Uni of queensland at IMU is more tempting.

it is down to quality of education vs possibly quality of one's future.

i am not saying that monash pharmacy is bad, just that i dislike post heavily against IMU or any other Uni without stating the reason.

i do dislike imu for the fact that they started to offer chiropractic degree. it is like an endorsement for some unproven complementary and alternative treatment where as current evidence strongly suggest that chiro is effective for treatment of back pain and maybe neck related and definitely not a cure all treatment. not to mention the risk associated with manipulation of spine and neck region compared to conventional treatment

Monash atm has ~40 students on average for each of the 1st and 2nd batches .

Lol, I went there not even knowing there was a quiz. Pretty sure I didn't get even 50% of the marks... but got accepted nevertheless. Turned them down due to better options.

i am not sure whether others had mentioned this or not..but one of the big factor to consider when making decision of studying pharmacy in japan is the language thingy..if they teach the syllabus in english, then i am fine with it..if they teach the syllabus  in japanese..then you got a lot of things to catch up if you consider coming back to msia to practice..for example, if they teach you the drugs in their own language, then when you come back msia, you need to relearn the whole thing in english because you get scripts and enquiries in english instead of japanese..

just my two cents..

anyway, i also would like to ask that is it becoming more difficult for those pharmacy graduate to apply for housemanship in the hospitals in west malaysia especially in places like penang island, kl, johor and other west coast malaysia states? has the vacancy to work for government hospital as a pharmacist has becoming very limited nowadays? It is because i saw a lot of places offering pharmacy degree course in comparison to few years ago..and i estimated that there should be around a few thousands of new pharmacy graduates pumping out of everywhere each year..

and also, i am just wondering..when we graduated as a pharmacist, is it true that the employer will want to look at your result in the uni before considering hiring you? as far as i know, singaporean employer demands to have a look at your result before considering hiring you but i am not sure malaysian one? please advise thx..
