Anyone already working as pharmacist here? Any idea on what books i should get? Gotta use up my voucher asap.

I have already bought Sarawak handbook, Frank Shann, Sanford's guide to antimicrobial therapy.

Should i get paediatric protocol as well? smile.gif

i feel like wanna take diploma in pharmacy. just wanna know, got math subject? and employment opportunities, can work at gov hospital rite after graduated? how much the average salary? SEGI or MSU, which one is good?

thanks!

Why Diploma and not Degree? Sorry I'm asking because many of my classmates actually finished their diploma and they take degree again so some of them are like 2-3 years older than me but same batch. Diploma in Pharmacy only allows you to work as pharmacy technician/assistant and not as a pharmacist.

It's hard to get in AIMST if you were an outsider student, that is if you did not enroll their foundation course. Otherwise it's pretty easy to gain admission of your grades meet the mark.

True, they did not want to entertain my forecast A-levels results because at that time my actual result wasn't released yet.

zstan, monash first batch? wink.gif

will pharmacist overload after 5-6 years??

Though a pharmacy student myself, I believe that there are now too many pharmacists already that's why Govt cuts it down to 1+1. However, it still depends on area and if you are competent enough, there is not worries I guess. smile.gif

Hi there, I will be sitting for SPM this year and is very interested in pursuing a degree in pharmacy (M Pharm). This is probably off the charts, but I would like some of your opinions. I am currently in distraught on whether to do A-lvls instead of SAM next year when I go to college. i was wondering which one will give me an edge if I were to plan to work in the UK after obtaining my MPharm?
*
I'm an A-levels graduate in my final year of Pharmacy now, and I can say that A-levels will definitely give you an edge over other foundation courses (except for STPM) in your first semester. Most likely you will be learning whatever that you are gonna learn in your Mpharm first semester in A-levels already.

Friends who did SAM, diploma..etc, they struggled in first semester.

However, after first semester everyone is back on level I believe.

Hi, currently I having dilemma in choosing which university for pharmacy,Taylor's or monash ?which uni has the better reputation? Another problem is, should I taking MUFY at Sunway campus or foundation in science at Taylor's? Please help><

Agree with zstan, both foundation courses are not really ideal for Pharmacy but it is not a definite NO, just need to work harder for first semester to build up your basics.

If I were you, I would go for Monash. Both are relatively new, but at least Monash's first batch is graduating soon.

By struggle, you mean like they find it hard to keep up with the classes or the fact that they need to learn more than those who has taken A-lvls?
*
Not to say hard to keep up, but they just need to put more effort into learning and understanding contents because they have not learnt before, but Alevels students have. However, they will still make it through anyway and start on equal level with other students in Sem 2. At least in my uni...
