you need to do a levels. if u aim to go into a highly competitive uni, its best if u take 4 subjects, if not 3 is also sufficient, but need good results also la of course.

not straight away..u need to apply for the uni before you finish pre-u..so your forecast results must be presentable as well...

generally most UK unis are recognised by the pharm board i think.  hmm.gif
*
oh haha ok thnx. but how bout SAM ? can i use it to apply for the pharmacy course in uk ?

btw zstan ur in monash rite? are u planning to go to parkville monash in australia? biggrin.gif

next year only go monash la...hmmm...planning la...but dunno whether can get or not.depends on results.... =/ not everybody can go one..unless you go straight there study 4 years la...
*
ohh haha. hmmm what if i do MUFY in sunway. can i go to monash aus rite after that? seeing that my results qualify that is tongue.gif

i dunno whether to go uk or aus.. uk seems kinda cool u get ur masters haha.. what do u think ? biggrin.gif

hi smile.gif just wanna know if i wanna do pharmacy in the future, what subjects should i take for my pre-u course like sam/ausmat?

sam i should take math, bio, chem, physics and esl rite. but how about ausmat? the counsellor suggested i take double math, chem, physics and eald as my 5 subjects and drop bio so i'll have more choices in case i decide not to do pharmacy. issit ok that i dont do bio? and will ausmat's math 3c/3d be really hard? my add math in form 5 is normally just 70+. never exceeded 80 before. will i be able to handle it ? :/

no i don't think u can handle it.  biggrin.gif  i think you should stick back with the same choices as for SAM. i don't really know what a double math holder can do for a degree besides actuarial science. but it certainly won be required for health sciences courses.

anyway, to answer your question, i know a friend who did double maths in a-levels in continued her pharm degree at notts.
*
haha ok then. thnx yeah. then i'll stick with one math tongue.gif

I picked the exact same subjects for AUSMAT except that I took English instead of EALD. As yes, not having bio won't be a big problem unless you skipped bio in F5.
*
oh haha. are u a AUSMAT graduate or are u going into AUSMAT next year? i realised i didnt have to list down the subjects i wanted to take in the application form. do we register on the first day of class? :/

QUOTE(baoz @ Dec 19 2010, 09:54 AM)
I did double math for SAM. No advantages in terms of health sciences at all, but it does open up your choices should you decide not to go into pharmacy (especially actuarial science - you need double math). Of course, the Bio package opens up just as much options too.

Bio is easy. Double math is hard. But if you do double math well, it can be your upper hand.

However if you're not confident with double math, and you're not considering actuarial science/engineering my advice would be to just go for Bio.
*
haha ok thnx. just registered ytd. gonna pick bio biggrin.gif

@cutebubbles

i thought ausmat and SAM just same? O.o

make up ur mind whether to go health science or engineering. if health science take math, chem and bio. i dun recommend to take phy, it's very tough.  and pls do ur ENG test, MUET or IELTS (very important cz it's one of the requirement to enter degree, some college they allow u take the exam within 1yr.)
*
ausmat has less coursework so i picked it XD and im taking physics in case i wanna do optometry instead tongue.gif btw eald is equivalent to the year 12 english rite... so im guessing it fulfills the english language requirements for uni? XD

For monash, by attending the practical lessons you already get marks. Shaky hands a.....my only advise is wear more layers of gloves then..  laugh.gif
*
LOL! well i only get shaky hands under stressful situations. practical lessons sounds manageable yay XD thnx yah btw ur experiments are carried out individual ? or in pairs ?

and anyone have any idea how the pharmacy course in nottingham malaysia is ?

For prac exams just be organised. Have a checklist and work procedure on your bench and follow it. Panic doesn't help.

For shaky hands just rest your elbows on the table while you're pouring out chemicals or other things. Everybody has shaky hands regardless.
*
oh haha thnx. u made me feel less nervous XD

but the experiments u guys are talking about sounds hard haha. guess i'll learn to handle it when the time comes XD

ok thanks for the confirmation smile.gif

btw the local monash pharmacy programme is not accredited yet rite? should that be a worry for new students joining this course? and is this degree recognized by the pharmacy board of victoria ? in their website they specified monash ( victorian school of pharmacy). does this mean we cant be registered in australia ? sad.gif
