@chocoholic221

tuition fee for U of Queensland looks normal to me. the amount you pay for 2 years in IMU is a lot though.

@baoz

good job on the first page.

Sorry I forgot you were doing MUFY. If you can't get to the course manager or something drop me a PM.

Your intake has a quota of around 60 students.. try your best to get in. smile.gif Send in an appeal letter if your calls are ignored... My coursemates did.

i called them 5 minutes ago, but there was no one on the other end of the line. I think they were having lunch or something.
What do you mean "calls are ignored" ? They won't pick up or they sweet talk on the phone and craps?

you're a student in monash, sunway campus right? i couldn't find the Bpharm undergraduate in sunway campus being recognized by the malaysia pharmacy board.
is monash dealing with the board still? by estimation when will the recognition be gained? Is it because monash has yet to have the first batch of bpharm undergraduates? but i thought pharmacy course in monash has been quite a time? well i didn't know much about the university so as the course it holds.
kindly solve my queries. thanks. smile.gif

Monash University started the Bpharm course in 2009. I have attended some seminars and the speakers would assure everyone that it will be accredited by Msia pharm board "soon".

Just my 2 cents because baoz hasn't replied.

By getting your calls ignored, I mean being put to the Marketing Dept.. cos they don't know much about this course. Half the time they tend to give wrong info to students. So it's best you go direct to the course manager.

As for BPharm, it is long established in Australia but just started in Malaysia this year. So they have yet to recognise it. I honestly don't know when is the estimated time, but I assume the latest will be after the 1st batch graduates in 2013. The reason why the uni did not allow us to transfer our credits to Monash in Australia is because they need us to graduate here in Malaysia. At least for the 1st batch. I don't know if the subsequent batches will be luckier..

And I don't think there's recognition in Aussie. You'd still have to follow the standard procedures. But I need to double confirm this.

@lys90

time for spoiler.

Does the Accreditation Committee accredit any international pharmacy schools?
Not directly, however some Australian pharmacy schools have ‘twinning programs’ offshore but these courses are not recognized by Australian and New Zealand registering bodies for direct entry into Australian pre-registration programs. These graduates contemplating working in Australia are still required to use the Examining Committee process on completion of their course

5. What happens if I go to a school that is not accredited?
The pharmacy registering authorities in all states and territories resolved in 2006 that they will not recognize a qualification from an unaccredited pharmacy school. You will not be registered to practice as a pharmacist.

APC (Australian Pharmacy Council) accredits pharmacy schools and programs intended to lead to registration as a pharmacist.

To qualify for registration as a pharmacist, a person must have completed the following:

• a pharmacy degree course recognised by the registering authority as a registrable qualification; and

• a period of pre-registration training and supervised practice.

google Competency Assessment of Overseas Pharmacists (CAOP) Examination etc if you are really interested.

i would say stick with STPM and try for pub uni and stop eye-ing overseas. that is not a league for you. mb ur children if you succeed. your parents have only 40 k and you want to spend 15k for a level?

unless you are offered a scholarship or JPA

thanks jerk. Actually i've visited the website of APC (Australia pharmacy council) before and it's from the website listing the recognised pharmacy schools, where mostly are FULL years study in aus and nz doubting me. anyway, just a few questions here:

-Where to get the list of "a pharmacy degree course recognised by the registering authority as a registrable qualification"?

-How do I know whether or not the degree/master degree by countries outside aussie and nz is recognised?
