Okay. I dont get you seriously. why do you thinking of switching course here and there. Monash is not that cheap after all to start all over again. if you are afraid that you are not good enough for bpharm and would like to have a go at bscience to build your confidence, chances are, you might end up changing from bscience to bpharm and back to bscience again in the end. and most health care related degree are going to have similar units for first semester aka biology, chemistry, english etc. unless you did not meet their min req for bpharm that is totally another story. |

QUOTE(igmroey @ Oct 21 2009, 01:44 PM) Okay how about this....Can we switch our courses ie from b.science to b.pharm but STARTOVER for b.pharm. Do they look at our results for semester 1 of b.science or do they look at our Pre-U results? Just do well in your pre-u and apply or appeal to the universities involved. If you can't make it for Monash, there's still IMU which has lower entry requirements.Afraid i can't make it >< I'm pretty sure they won't look at your b.science. Even people who have done diploma in pharmacy has to start over. A few of my coursemates in BPharm (Monash) now have either done one semester of BPharm elsewhere or dropped out of medicine (MBBS). Yet they all have to start over in BPharm. There are no credit exemptions.. In terms of entry requirements, I would advise you to apply NOW. Applications are already open. Get a conditional offer/place first. There's a cap of only 60 students next intake. If your pre-u results are poor, write an appeal letter or talk to the course manager. |

I am not sure if anyone or i have asked this question before, but sorry if i repeat the redundant questions here.
What are the requirements of sciences graduetes to continue their master in pharmacy? which institution offer this master PHARM? I am not really fond of involving myself onto research and would be glad to find a way out to continue to pharmacy which can allow me to have a more rewarding career and to have plenty of interactions with patients as well.=) |

But as far as I know, no IPTS in Malaysia offers a master in pharm. Don't know about IPTAs though.What are the requirements of sciences graduetes to continue their master in pharmacy? which institution offer this master PHARM? I see postgraduate students doing research in our labs but I don't know what their qualifications are or what they will matriulate with. (Or just give me a week to check out the postgraduate courses here.. I see the prospectuses lying around) However, I do know that Uni of Sydney and a few others in Australia (UQ maybe) offer 1.5-year master courses in pharmacy with a few specific speialisations you may want to look into(some non research related). I think it's best you email these universities personally and ask them about their requirements.. Links to these universities are up on the 1st post. Just navigate yourself until you get to the postgraduate section. |

@Angelpoli
try to aim at least BBB for all subject - maths, chem , bio. if you get an A for chemistry, it gonna help in your application as well. i think you need to take IELTS or the other one to show your english proficiency. |

Hi people.
I do not usually hang out at the education thread, and I it is a pleasant surprise to find a whole thread dedicated to pharmacy. I am asking those who are already doing the course, how much does the whole pharmacy course cost in private local IPT? E.g. Nottingham, IMU etc? I am asking from a parent perspective to get a feel of the cost I have to bear to see my child take up a course like pharmacy. Thanks for helping me out. Xuzen |

Xuzen » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Generally if you're planning to have your child do the degree fully in Malaysia (4 years), be prepared to fork out between RM100k to Rm200k. Do note however that tuition fees increase every year, especially in Monash (around Rm500 - Rm1000 increment every year). If you were to twin overseas, it will definitely go up to RM200k to RM300k (EXCLUSIVE of living costs).. This post has been edited by baoz: Dec 8 2009, 05:41 PM |

Hi all. This thread's a little dead lately. Anyway, I've updated 1st post on the fees for IMU-UQ twinning.
QUOTE 3. Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons), credit transfer 2 years to University of Queensland, Australia; July intake. Fees: RM 87,200 (local tuition) + RM 163,800 (Queensland tuition) Total approximate: RM 251,000 ++ (not inclusive of miscellaneous fees and cost of living in Queensland) I'm curious as to how the Segi-Sunderland program is going. Two of my friends have started there but I haven't had the chance to talk to them yet.. |
