I was just wondering, what's your TV and the setting in it?

Mine is a Panasonic Viera TX-32LE8M 32" TV (resolution up to 1366 x 768, so it's HD ready)...

set my xbox to 720p

Reference Level = Standard
HDMI Color Space = YCbCr709

Set my TV to "Standard"

Contrast = 77

Brightness = 42

Colour = 51

Sharpness = 4

Warm

D.PNR = Off

There's Ch Colour Set and Tint, both have bars but no numbers, so I leave 'em untouched (the indicator stays in the middle of the bar)...

I've come across a thread in other forum says that the picture is better if I set my Xbox's resolution to 1080i... is this true?

mine is LX88M. same specs as yours, dunno whats the difference.

contrast, brightness, colour, and sharpness would depends on individual preferences. maybe your eyes feel more comfortable with such brightness and contrast.

i've compare 720p and 1080i, and do feel that 1080i gives better picture.

anyone else can confirm this theory?

This is not a theory........

just that HD ready do not have that kinda quality compared to Full HD....

a 1080 image, displayed at 720 resolution..of course it's sharper..
for example.. digital camera/handphone camera.at camera/handphone, pic looks ok/nice.. but open in computer, it's abit blur. it's because the large image displayed on a lower resolution screen, that's why we see in camera/handphone it's ok.

1080i displayed on a HD READY TV will have slightly sharper image. However, when it comes to moving objects... 720P will be better. I can't really be able to explain it... Try googling '1080i vs 720p'.

Gaming wise, 720P is the way to go if being compared to 1080i

I've tried to set my xbox to 1080i and played in on my HD ready TV.. I don't see any big differences....

it's not a big difference, just some tiny one like lesser jaggy.

do your tv have this problem with game where if there's movement too fast, it looks pixelated? like if you rotate your game character 360 degree very fast or seeing a car racing from the side of the car and the background looks pixelated?

If it's pixelated or 'jaggy'... chances are, your tv response time or your game's the one giving the problem.

i also suspect it's the response time.

try gears of war 2, let the camera rotate 360 degree non stop and see if the background looks pixelated when it was moving very fast.

no dff la aiyo... even 1080P vs 1080i... i cant see any diff unless im very particular with EVERY DETAILS lo.. just for those pro/particular ppl only can see

nope.. i don't see any pixel on my background whatsoever..

tried on 720p and 1080i.. no diff..

and because my TV is HD-Ready PLUS the 360's native resolution for both the dashboard and the majority of games are 720..

i'll stick with 720p..

720p is more better than 1080i coz 'p' means progressive provide full display but 'i' means interlance provide multiple lines display when human eyes see it has no difference between them. Actually, to find out which is better quality between 'p' n 'i' is interlance provide unstable display which means when we look closely onto the screen the display have vibrate between its lines display but progressive is smooth n no vibration at all.You can also can try by capture it by camera n see the diferences(Human eyes response times much lower than camera).For an example, when the videos play the interlance provide 60 fields/s but progressive 60 frames/s(coz interlance just the lines n progressive full frame). Of course the 1080 better than 720 resolution but 720p is more accurate n better display than 1080i coz its 'i' n 'p'. Here's are the ranking in according to its best quality:-

1. 1600p
2. 1080p
3. 720p
4. 1080i
5. 480p
6. 480i
