yes for iPhone users its a free update in the "summer" of 09 and for touch users its a $9.99 fee.

data per say is P2P between only iPhones currently not between other handsets except for vCard transfers..songs and things like that cant be transferred if thats how i understood it. so as for iBluetooth u have to pay for it, thats one thing and you have to jb...there is no jb with the 3.0 os update!

i guess you win some, you lose some...there is a 100 over added on features in 3.0 bt only a few major ones were demo-ed so maybe there will be other features that might be in store for those on the 1st gen iPhone...don't give up hope jz yet bros!

i think that the bluetooth-wifi p2p feature is something to look forward to...transfer speeds will be significantly fast! but down side is that its only between iPhones or Touches.

some security problem apple mentioned that didnt allow them to have the feature in the first place, so maybe that would cause a prob in the 2G iPhone cos the irreversible flaw exists in the 2G and not in the 3G.

i believe that many of these features were already developed by apple before or during the iPhone 3G launch but just kept thm under the covers so that ppl like us keep anticipating and speculating. indirectly they receive the attention they seek...smart fellas!

even if you buy now from maxis the "new" iPhone probably will launch in Malaysia after the official launch in other major places. so like it took 8 months for the 3G to come to msian soil, im guessing now that we have it here officially, thats the time frame in which they will launch it officially too +/- 2 months maxx!
