can.... why not? unless ure using soft unlocking like yellowsn0w than u'll be in trouble... (for a moment la kot..? dev team is always there helping)

and of course dev team will be launching the new quickpwn/winpwn for OS 3.0 when they are launch....
so i wont worry.... i only worry about ppl who are using soft unlock or sim adapter only....

Did you read the FAQ thread? Dude theres a reason why you shouldnt update any OS revision immediatedly once its out, on your iphone if its jailbroken cause it'll lock your phone. aiyoyo

Actually in June is WWDC '09, the iPhone's OS SDK Roadmap event is on last March.

New iPhone apps must be 3.0 compatible


New iPhone applications will be rejected unless they are ready for Apple's forthcoming iPhone 3.0 firmware upgrade, developers have been informed.

An email from Apple has told devs that they face having their wares refused entry to the Apple App Store unless they are ready for the next iteration of the phone's software which arrives in the summer.

The company also warned owners of existing applications that 3.0 incompatible apps would be removed from the store after the firmware arrives.

"Beginning today, all submissions to the App Store will be reviewed on the latest beta of iPhone OS 3.0," read the email bulletin.

Not approved

"If your app submission is not compatible with iPhone OS 3.0, it will not be approved. Existing apps in the App Store should already run on iPhone OS 3.0 without modification, but you should test your existing apps with iPhone OS 3.0 to ensure there are no compatibility issues.

"After iPhone OS 3.0 becomes available to customers, any app that is incompatible with iPhone OS 3.0 may be removed from the App Store."

Meanwhile, pictures have surfaced over on the Boy Genius Report site that appear to suggest that a magnetometer could be included in the widely expected next hardware version of the iPhone.

Rumours abound as to what upgrades will arrive in the next iPhone, including slide out keyboards, video cameras and the inclusion of a compass feature would certainly aid the promise of turn-by-turn navigation.

WWDC? 8-12th?

I hope they bring "One More Thing" by then. Shock us with the most unexpected release detail we can never expected to hear.

New iPhone specs leaked -- 600MHz CPU, 32GB, 3.2MP cam?


Take this for what it is -- a totally unverified rumor from a Chinese forum -- but a set of specs for a next-gen iPhone have leaked out along with this screenshot, and they're not entirely far-fetched. According to the alleged leak, iPhone model MB717LL 9 ("iPhone2,1" perhaps?) will have a 600MHz processor (up from the current 400MHz unit), 256MB of RAM (from the current 128MB), 32GB of storage, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, as well as a digital compass and FM radio, all while retaining the same battery, basic shape, and screen size. Do we believe it? Well, if we were to conservatively guess at specs for a next-gen Apple phone that's pretty much what we'd come up with -- with the exception of FM -- so we're not shaking our heads too hard. Plus we've definitely seen evidence that a compass will figure into the equation, and there's endless whispers that the camera will see an upgrade. Still, only Steve and the gang know for sure, and we're (probably) not finding out till they're ready -- WWDC, are you here yet?

wait for its announcement on the june/july ok? its not that long now....

if it's just a speed bump to 600MHz it's nothing then, as first gen iPhone already got 667MHz application processor (at worst case condition it's 620MHz, source), only that it's downclocked via software. and the iPhone 3G came and it got a slower application processor compared to the 1st gen. but yeah, unless it's another kind of processor (not the same type of Samsung ARM11 anymore) it will be really interesting (and better yet if Apple got some surprise for us via PA Semi, but rumours r that PA Semi chips wont make it into Apple products until next year, but yeah still there's a possibility)

i dont see the rumoured processor freq to be that interesting as for the iPhone's case, as the first gen already got the processor that was significantly better compared to most of other smartphones in the market upon its launch (and that's not even including other stuffs like RAM and internal memory capacity). and now with devices featuring Tegra platform, Cortex A8 (used in Palm Pre), etc, just 'round the corner, things wont be that good for Apple this time, unless, they got some kind of secret weapon waiting to be unleashed on the next gen iPhone. and hope this hold to be true, as Apple havent yet failed to surprise me again and again.


btw as for me (if the rumour hold to be true), my prediction is the one equipped with the 600MHz processor is the iPhone 2,1, while the iPhone 3,1 will sport another kind of application processor. so the iPhone 2,1 purpose is to cater the low-end market, while the 3,1 serves the opposite. but yeah, this may look obvious. but myb i could be wrong this time (again).
