QUOTE(irenic @ Mar 14 2009, 10:54 PM)
i rather we lose to west brom, or stoke or derby or fulham or hull or whatever team as long it is not Liverpool..

as always, now all Liverpool fans sms me and laughed at me.. damnnn!

when we had doubles over them, i never sms them ..

that's the different between Liverpool fans, and Manchester United fans.

QUOTE(ts1 @ Mar 14 2009, 11:08 PM)
dun flame me, why old trafford half full? shld see the match until the end ma

You are tarring everyone with the same brush. You don't see the likes of Jonno, Duke etc, sms-ing anyone to taunt them. If anything ts1's post shows the difference between the two sets of fans. Leaving early when the lads need your support the most?

It is the price for success imho. The more successful and marketable you become, the more 'prawn brigade' fans you attract, fans with $$. Loyalty is a rarity nowadays. Happens in any other ground (even Anfield can be really quiet nowadays, but god forbid i have yet to see fans leaving in droves before the final whistle) but as you guys have been the most successful over the past decade or so it is even more obvious at Old Trafford.

Not sure about now, but Maine Road used to be bursting at the seams even when the other team in Manchester were slugging it out in the second division laugh.gif

hey, the old man's being surprisingly polite and gracious in defeat... nice one.

^but to be able to have players the caliber of giggs, scholes and berbatov come off the bench is a luxury no other club has. dammit sad.gif

QUOTE(subpar @ Mar 16 2009, 05:15 PM)
The only upside for me was meeting David May. Crap, I wanted to leave early cos the liverpool fans were getting out of control, singing and taunting the United fans.

very disappointed with the general united fans though, nobody sang anything! I'm not loud enough, and the Liverpool side was totally drowning us sad.gif

Me! Me! I met him too b4! The season right after you guys won the epl where he featured quite often. The season where he kinda dropped off the radar. Was my first few weeks at Manchester, and he was one of the first players I met in flesh and blood so was a bit unreal... It was around 1AM in a small casino in Manchester town centre.

Not for my bristol born ang mo friend though, he shouted "Bloody hell Mr May, now we know why you aren't playing anymore!" laugh.gif

Not to stir up anything, nor is this any more important but i recall living in manchester that although the whole area is called Greater Manchester, more often than not only the city center and its immediate surrounding areas is referred to as "Manchester". Salford is normally referred to as Salford, Stockport was Stockport etc etc.
I lived near Maine Road/Rusholme, which was smack in the middle of City and curry county laugh.gif

For me it will be AS Roma..their Ultras...
*
Mixed feelings on ultras... some of the more mundane ones are basically glorified bands of footie fanatics - club supporters who want a sense of belonging and togetherness, a more passionate version of a fan club if you may. Others are nothing but mischief makers. Some are blatant racists.

Like everything in life, too much of a good thing is never good - it is a thin line that seperates passion from hooliganism.

repot!!! repot!!! sarcastic jibe posted laugh.gif

but seriously, if people like giggs, gary neviller (i personally hate his guts, but plenty of united supporters in manchester itself have nothing bad to say about him) and scholes cannot instill a sense of loyalty on the fella, no one can.

iirc, fifteen bucks back then would have gotten you admission into stadium penampang to watch olleranshaw and the rest of the lads play, as well as a bottle of coca cola that came in a plastic bag with oversized pieces of ice, which you must lob at zainal abidin hassan whenever he comes over to take a throw in, again with the obligatory 'kuda tua' insult!

those were the times.

lol , i dont know why even Man Utd won lots of match , their still humble with their opinion and speech. Liverpool just recently starts their form and they already had their nose high. IMO , no wonder they couldnt reach far.

you're joking right? at any rate, if you can diss it out, then you should be able to take some flak in return.
