Hmm yes we have been waiting for no.19 for a long time now, and yes we had high hopes of winning in Athens but in the end, we are still here through rain or shine. i certainly hope no poster has come over to taunt you lot. I'm wondering though why you can't accept the defeat but instead have to start mocking us even when unprovoked? I said to Corez in Breakers that in the end, the title is yours but it takes nothing away from the fact that this was a morale boosting win for us. Well if it's any consolation then do what you must I suppose... I think it's important to be gracious in defeat but that's just me. I don't speak on behalf of everyone Liverpool fan or not.

Mana gambar? BTW I'm shocked you remember our visit yesterday, you are clearly drunk with joy and Carlsberg.

Well I did start drinking @ 6:30 smile.gif Couldn't help contain my joy if I wanted to. Perhaps some day you'll understand how it feels to be good friends with Mancs who taunt me all the time, and to live in the Shadow of Man Utd for almost 2 decades. As I said, the win will likely be short lived but it is a rare occasion indeed that I have bragging rights if only for a day. I'm just hoping our posters showed some class and didn't come over to taunt you lot. I just logged in and have no idea if there was such an incident.

Why so sensitive Duke? There were A LOT of posters coming out of nowhere taunted last nite. Alien 'washed' the thread every now and then due to that. Certainly, if you check my posts(albeit in here and your thread) were all saying Pool played brilliantly last night. All hats to your team. I even congratulated my friends, Pool fans on the win. Yes it is disappointing to see fans leaving Old Trafford last night but hey they aren't us, aren't they?

All in all, how disappointing it is to lose to an arch-rival but I am grateful that we lost. So that the players could be brainwashed by SAF again. A reality check for them. So savour your moments. Don't be so judgemental. Credits is given where it is due.
*
Like I said, I was hoping our posters didn't come over but it looks like they did. Sensitive? Can't help it mate. I can't begin to describe the emotional turmoil I feel as a Liverpool fan. You may say that some accepted the defeat with dignity but I see a whole lot of anti-Liverpool sentiments and it's not even relevant to the game last night. I don't speak on behalf of all fans, just myself.

As for the picture of the bus, well I thought it was common sense that it had to be painted before the game, in anticipation of the team returning the next day. Then again I have no idea how long it takes do I? I could just as well counter it with a picture of our fans staying all the way until the end to applaud AC Milan as they went up to claim their winners medals but what would be the point?

I dont know you personally Duke but as I've repeatedly pointed out you're one of the few Pool fans that I can stand and tolerate seeing that you're a very level headed person. Don't blame anyone for enjoying the win, hell it's a win against your bitter, bitter rivals. Who wouldn't enjoy it?? I bloody hell know I would. There was a few who came ontot here from what I saw, taunting saying that was definitely number 19, something along those lines.
Well that's just them being dellusional. Like I said almost a month ago, the fan lady has already recorded an album.

Well firstly, I don't think anyone will visit your thread after losing to a team that isn't you. I mean what would be the point? It has no relevance to your thread. The reason Liverpool posters are here this time round is because the title race is on again. I don't know what's been posted before but I believe this to be the case.

I doubt that a loss in form will result in Liverpool fans going into hiding. Like I've said countless times, we've been living in your shadow for 2 decades and we're still around and will be for a long time to come. It's especially important for fans to stand tall when their team isn't doing well don't you think?

QUOTE(Makakeke @ Mar 23 2009, 08:59 AM)
Meh, did you really think Villa posed a threat to liverpool? they've not won like...since....some time ago.
That isn't the point though mate, I mean the same could have been said about Fulham who had not beaten you at Craven Cottage since what? 1934? Aston Villa were tipped as favourites this season to ursurp the top 4 and for awhile they were in 4th. Fact is that they are or were a different force this season. You can play it down all you want but I do think they can trouble you because if you watched last night's game, they had chances to equalise and who knows what might have happened then?

QUOTE(Hevrn @ Mar 23 2009, 09:39 AM)
Its been discussed to death. Why resume the topic now? Yes, he's not the same Ronaldo we saw scoring for fun last season, or the player opposition defenders were bouncing off in 06/07, but the expectations to begin with were a lil over the top. 42 goals a season might never be repeated again, and frankly how many players actually go on to have three sublime back-to-back seasons. His attitude has not been the best I agree, but I've said before that this is the package that is Ronaldo. You either love him or loathe him, and fact is many rival fans would have him in their team in a heartbeat (I know many don't say it aloud though). Yeah the verdict is still out on him, but as long as he wears the Manchester United emblem on his chest and plays for us I'm gonna support him, not go on and boo him off the pitch.
*
It's different for me though. I've always prioritised hard work and heart over skill and ability. To lend a quote from "Pearl Harbour", "there's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer". If a player isn't fully committed, I'd rather he leave. It's the same way I felt about Gerrard when he was considering a move to Chelsea. You may say that I'm just saying this because the player in question is Ronaldo but it is genuinely how I feel. It's the reason my favourite player is Carragher and why I will always remember Titi Camara, Erik Meijer, Dirk Kuyt and Igor Biscan. They weren't/aren't the most talented but they give it 100% each time.

Well like you said, this is an old topic and I think our opinions have already been made clear so I'll end my contribution right here smile.gif

pool thrash villa 5-0. we r goin to face villa next. hopefully we will recover by the time we r goin to meet them.

1. sure goalie will turn to be super goalie
2. villa will play like hell to defeat man utd

so its tough game again ahead

Another poster mentioned that Friedel will have a blinder, however he won't be playing will he? I disagree with your 1st point because I don't think there is any basis for that statement. I do agree with your 2nd point because the lucrativeness of playing in the Champions League is sure to be a driving force for them.

we love to make life difficult for us..same like last season..

Well form will fluctuate over the course of a season. Steve McMahon hit the nail on the head last night when he said that while Man Utd will welcome the international break, Liverpool would like nothing more than for the games to come hard and fast. Like you, we made life difficult for ourselves after consecutive home draws against average opposition while we are at the top. It's important to peak at the right time. After a slow start, you strung together a run of games which propelled you to the top of the league but it looks like you've encountered a setback now. Remains to be seen how long this drop in form will last.

Why would Rijkaard have a higher chance of success than Curbishley? He may have managed one of Europe's giants but it wasn't as though he had much to do. The only good thing I remember him doing is getting rid of a bunch of pensioners. Evidently he didn't do enough to keep his job there. He was a great player but that doesn't mean he'll amount to a decent manager.

Big names may be perceived to be a safe bet but who was Arsene Wenger before he signed? Who had heard of Gerrard Houllier before he won 5 cups for us in a season? Avram who?
