hye guys. can u please recommend me a notebook for a student like me? i am not an expert in the latest technology and the current price.
my least requirement is:
- <RM 3K
- reliable + high durability
- 14" screen
- good for multitasking. i hate laggyness.
- can handle 'heavy' applications like AutoCAD & Engineering Design pps while multitasking
- play movies smoothly
- good sound quality + loud speaker (not a priority)
- i don't play games but i listen to music + watch movies a lot
if can, i want to avoid acer, compaq and dell (yup)
thanx in advance guys.

i can advice the spec..then you can look for the brand suite you..cause mainly i only know about acer, compaq and dell which all of them you dont want
good for multitask-
at least you have a dual-core if not core2duo..the t2300(1.66ghz) would be enough for autocad/ solidworks with at least 2gb ram..but i reckon from rm3k, you can get a core2duo CPU with at least t5500(1.66ghz). and u might want to consider a centrino as fot internet multitasking(bet u down ur movie from torrent
try to find dolby digital sound or altec lansing(compaq/hp)built-in which give you HD software sound
try to get a wide-screen LCD as you want a 14" for watching movies..
a ben-q would be reliable..as sony and toshiba will cost u more..
