I am hesitating between buying a Intel based and a AMD based laptop, my budget is max 2.5K, Compaq HP is my preferred choice, due to lack of PC shops in my hometown, I just wanna get my money worth, I haven't tried AMD laptop before, does it consume more power and runs hotter if compared to Core 2 Duo processors? I just know that AMD got better graphics..

yes regarding the CPU part...

for ur budget, Compaq CQ40 with AMD Turion x2 and HD3450, or Asus K40Ab with Athlon x2 and HD4570 thumbup.gif...

So means it excels in graphics but at the expenses of consuming more power..

yup, u can say that...

but it's not really so bad la...

Turion x2 should be pretty close to C2D T6000 series...

Athlon x2 is some where between Turion x2 and Pentium Dual Core...

Thanks for the clarifications, I will do more research then.. biggrin.gif

Just to ask, if I plan to buy DELL laptops online, for warranty purposes where do I send the laptop to? Call the DELL technician to come to my house?
