Asus K40IN-D210VHP
CPU & Chipset : Intel 6500 2.1GHz
Operating System : Windows Vista Home Premium
Memory : 4GB (DDR2 800 x 2)
Graphic : Nvidia Geforce G102M 512MB VRAM

Toshiba L510 S432
Processor : Intel Centrino CoreTM2 Duo Processor T6500 (2.1GHz,2MB L2 Cache,800MHz FSB)
Operating System : Vista Home Premuim
RAM : 4GB DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics Card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD4530 256MB VRAM

Both same price, I suppose...  icon_question.gif
*
Between both, better go with Asus K40IN (warranty wins here)...if into games (well, both are actually quite sux in games) go with Toshiba..nod.gif...what is your budget??? and what is the main-usage of the laptop that you'll do, issit gaming?? surfing?? watching movies??

Both waranty is same 2 yrs...
Both price is RM2,699 ..

Yup surfing, game, movies.. any better suggestion? Cheaper and better? he..he..
*
Warranty by Asus is (2 years International Warranty) while Toshiba is (1 year International Warranty + 2nd year Global warranty)

Does battery played an important issue for you?? Why dun you consider getting Asus K40Ab instead of K40In..or you want Intel proc?? Then maybe you can try Dell Studio 15...

IC... but i more justify better money value..
Dell 2699 1 year wnty, K40ab 2299 with 2 yrs wnty.. which 1 better money value?
After sales?

Broadband.. modem .. should buy the usb modem is it,.. wrong Q.. doh.gif
*
For better performances, Dell Studio 15...but if want better value for money than just go for Asus K40Ab..yes, the warranty for Asus win hands down if compared with Dell ( and its International Warranty some more icon_idea.gif )...

After sales service :
Dell - One of the best after sales service i know...thumbup.gif..so far their CS is excellent
Asus - Never heard any complaint so far, and also their CS is thumbup.gif

*Buy which one suits you best...

Dell Studio 15 (RM2699) - 15" with Intel Proc (1 year warranty)
Asus K40Ab (RM2299) - 14" with AMD Proc (2 years warranty)

*Still, if have some money better go with Dell Studio 15 icon_rolleyes.gif...decision is in your hand notworthy.gif

now i'm in dilemma in between asus k40ab or k40in or compaq cq40 series...budget around 2k to 2.3k....so which should i choose...is actuali for light gaming and mainly do surfing...or any other model can fit into my budget?
*
If really need the battery then better go with K40In (Intel Proc), can last longer than K40Ab...but if into games, K40Ab is the right choice nod.gif...dished out Compaq CQ40 already....

My personal recommendations would be:
1. Asus K40Ab
2. Asus K40In
3. Compaq CQ40

*btw, define light gaming..icon_rolleyes.gif...many sorts of light gaming..Gamehouse/Kids game or MMORPG?? Or more into Graphic intensive games???

QUOTE(hagiri_11 @ Sep 29 2009, 11:11 AM)
Can somebody recommend me a laptop having these specs:

1. CPU : Fast (more than 2.1 GHz)
2. 14" or 13.1"
3. Portable, lightweight and Sturdy enough to be carried around all the time
4. Long battery life
5. Has a fairly good graphics card
6. Price : Around RM3k to RM4k

I'll need it for my office use, where I'll be using engineering programs to do a lot of CPU intensive calculations & modelling. Need it to be light & sturdy to carry around to meetings and such.

Also, need the graphics card for future use. May be used for 3D modelling in the future.

Asus U80V...all meets your requirements nod.gif
