QUOTE(peterG @ Oct 17 2009, 03:02 AM) 1. Brand: Any but NOT Acer. 2. Budget: RM 2.5k - 3k 3. Specs: As good as possible. High processor + graphic card. 4. Size: At least 1.4' Currently im looking for Samsung R470 and Asus K40IN-P7350. Any recommendation? Dell Studio 15 QUOTE(LokiD.d.G @ Oct 17 2009, 03:03 AM) Don't people buy Macs almost exclusively for their OS X? To ditch it for Windows after paying the premium price would be downright ridiculous to me. Sorry if I come across as harsh, but your statement didn't make much sense. +1, unless if he's looking for something thin and gaming capable~ This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Oct 17 2009, 03:07 AM

QUOTE(SheepMekk @ Oct 17 2009, 11:42 AM) Haha what I meant was like what astria said. Of course I wouldn't just install windows on my macbook ._. I'll have the mac os and windows at the same time. Wouldn't that solve my gaming problem already? Since it can support games on my windows side, and do other things while I'm not playing games I wanna try out the mac os anyway. My question is, can macbook pro 15" play games like windows do?(After I install windows AND STILL keeping the mac os). Games I play is like.. dota, hon, tf2, l4d, call of duty and such sure, since it got 9600m gt.

if really need quadro card, dell precision m2400, starting price rm 4320. honestly, quadro laptop is expensive, the fx370 on m2400 is just entry level, similiar to nvidia 9300m gs. resolution nowadays run around 1366x768 and 1920x1080, rare(1440x900, 1600x900)

QUOTE(lily_butterfly @ Oct 17 2009, 07:30 PM) What would u recommended if I need better performance while running autocad and 3d Max and don't go for quadro.. Although it is recommended that graphics card that support openGL is more essential. would you compromise on resolution to 1366x768? benq s42 with 9600m gt, hardware wise same with quadro fx770, *maybe * can be softmod (no guarantee). if really need the resolution, dell studio 15 and studio xps 16, can go up to 1920x1080.

hardware wise, they are the same, difference in performance would be because of the driver and the locked feature, thus the premium price. if you dislike dell, the others would be hp elitebook, thinkpad w series, but I don't think 4k is sufficient

well, yeah they do. But best performance would be s42(9600m gt GDDR3), then goes to studio 15 (hd4570 GDRR3) , then u80v (hd4570 DDR2). Acer 5935G would be rm 3999 to get gt130m DDR2, which lose to 9600m GTDDR3, hp at 3k you would only get g105m, which is entry level, meant to replace intel gpu.

I remember dell will send the upgrade by them, not by microsoft, so no need to pay shipping. shipping would be around $19?

there's might chance for lower price, but there's chance to discontinued the previous series. So buy when you need the laptop well, i7 can be considered as the most powerful cpu, so now come to mobile platform. but not really suitable for gaming. Video editing and other works get the most benefit from i7. This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Oct 17 2009, 10:08 PM
