QUOTE(astria @ Oct 17 2009, 09:56 AM) well, honestly speaking, if ur wish does come true, it'll be my total nightmare... took so much effort to get a nice 14" laptop with HD4650, only to find out there's a cheaper alternative.. . Any idea how much is the N60dp gonna cost?

QUOTE(SheepMekk @ Oct 17 2009, 11:42 AM) Haha what I meant was like what astria said. Of course I wouldn't just install windows on my macbook ._. I'll have the mac os and windows at the same time. Wouldn't that solve my gaming problem already? Since it can support games on my windows side, and do other things while I'm not playing games I wanna try out the mac os anyway. My question is, can macbook pro 15" play games like windows do?(After I install windows AND STILL keeping the mac os). Games I play is like.. dota, hon, tf2, l4d, call of duty and such sure, since it got 9600m gt.

Sorry, I have a more precise requirement to get the expert here to recommend a notebook for me. Thanks.
1) What is your budget? 1.5k to 4k
2) What size notebook would you prefer? Ultraportable; 11" - 12” screen or Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
3) Brands a. Like: Asus, HP, etc b. Dislike: Toshiba
4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Need graphic cards that can especially support openGL for running AutoCad, 3D Max, Adobe photoshop, illustrator, indesign. ETC. Do not need a gamer graphic card.
5) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Highly mobility.
6) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games or types of games? Not a gamer.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need? Perferably more than 4 hours.
8) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc. Please recommended. Don't mind XP.
Screen Specifics
9) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
a. WXGA – 1280x800 or occasionally 1280x768; For people who like big text and icons that are easy to read. Less stuff fits on the screen, which translates into more scrolling. b. WXGA+ – 1440x900; A modest bump over WXGA. Text and icons are a bit smaller. A little more stuff fits on the screen. c. WSXGA+ – 1680x1050; The middle ground. Again, text and icons are smaller than WXGA+, and more stuff fits onto the screen. Good for having applications open side by side, like a web browser while playing a video. d. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Very small text and icons, that can be hard to read. Lots of stuff fits on the screen, which means less scrolling. Good for applications that require a high level of detail like CAD or Photo Editing.
10) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?# Preferably non-glossy however not a big issue. Can compromise.
Notebook Components
11) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 500GB? Do you want a SSD drive? 40 GB and above.
12) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive? CDRW/DVD-ROM

if really need quadro card, dell precision m2400, starting price rm 4320. honestly, quadro laptop is expensive, the fx370 on m2400 is just entry level, similiar to nvidia 9300m gs. resolution nowadays run around 1366x768 and 1920x1080, rare(1440x900, 1600x900)

Although it is recommended that graphics card that support openGL is more essential. This post has been edited by lily_butterfly: Oct 17 2009, 07:31 PM

dell studio xps13 and macbook pro 13 may suit u. in term of performance, studio xps13 beat macbook pro13 a lot and cheaper as well. but macbook pro 13 is SLIGHTLY lighter(arond 200g) than studio xps13 and it's battery life can reach 7hours while studio xps13 i think only can reach 3 hours. both also over ur budget. studio xps13 is RM4199 while macbook pro13 is RM4499

Can try MSI X-Slim 320...I bought from user:LingLoong. Seller not bad. The brand, although still new but quite good. Looks like Apple, really. So far, nothing bad la but because it is slim so couldn't fit in a DVD-RW drive. Price also 2000 plus only.
