well...mostly acer aspire models don't support Win XP anymore...well, they pushing consumers to migrate themselves to Vista or 7...if you really want one, maybe can try Acer Aspire 4736...suits you lor, remember to ask the seller/shops to install you Win XP lor & ask them to burn a copy of the drivers for XP for future use..

QUOTE(terrabyte @ Jul 5 2009, 05:50 PM) hey i'm looking for a laptop with the following criterias. Dell Studio 15, yes it heat-up but not to the point till the laptop shutdown..still a good choice with your budget...price: less than 3.5k brand: any brand but acer screen: at least 14 inch purpose: i do game occasionally.so i'm looking for one which can run games like FIFA, COD, L4D etc smoothly. oh and on a side note,i tend to leave the laptop on to download stuff thru the day.like maybe the whole afternoon and halfway thru the night?so i'm looking for one which doesn't easily overheat.i've heard friends telling me that dell studio 15 and some other acer laptop tends to overheat, have no idea how true it is. thanks! *S42 also a good choice...can switch to Intel GMA to prevent heat while downloading or not gaming...want to game, just switch to nVidia 9600M GT, ready to game.. |

QUOTE(WMfan @ Aug 6 2009, 03:23 PM) I have one Toshiba. the screen is delighted but keypad/touchpad got heat like almost Toshiba ones. I have managed to find a new Toshiba with no heat on keypad when running at PC fair but was still disappointed. Try checking Acer Timeline 3810T (RM3099) or maybe Acer Timeline 4810T (RM2499)...can anyone help me out to find a 12-13" notebook (not netbook) with strong specification, long lasting battery, and importantly enough, the key/touch pad should not be hot while running. My budget is now RM 2500. if this is not enough with your recommend laptop, I can prepare some more Please let me know the brand, specification and link if possible. Thanks |
Asus U80Vg (rm3399)... Asus provide 2yrs int'l warranty... if it's too much, then maybe the Asus K40 and K50 series... Only Asus provide 2 yrs int'l warranty? No any other brands?
Well...others usually provide 2,3 years global warranty only...only Asus provide 2 years International Warranty.. |

Maybe you can try check the Asus U Series..
*my suggestion would be Acer Aspire Timeline (3810T)..can last for 8 hours (with power saver on) & also very light (just that it don't have built-in dvd-drive)... *but what astria mention is true...quite expensive lor that CQ...maybe you can opt for other laptop.. |
