QUOTE(InFe_eD @ Jul 20 2009, 03:21 PM) HP dv2 - AMD Athlon Neo MK40 (1.4GHz) with HD3410 , the athlon neo would be much more powerful then atom and the 3410 shud suffice your need since you dont game. Look nice, but what the price? QUOTE(astria @ Jul 20 2009, 03:24 PM) Asus F81Se... rm3099 comes with C2D T6400 and HD4570... u may want to top up rm500 for C2D P8700 instead... or BenQ S42, rm3399 with C2D P8700 and GeForce 9600M GT... Actually, budget only below RM3000, cannot add anymore. I think I don't need the HD4570 or any high end mobile gc. Tq.

QUOTE(c_calvin @ Jul 20 2009, 03:39 PM) 1. Brand: Any 2. Budget: Around 3k 3. Purpose: won't be playing games. Just for normal use, watching movies, surfing etc. 4. Size: Maximum 14" Currently looking at 2 models Dell Studio 14 & HP Pavilion DV3-2111TX Prefer the Dell studio 14 actually but the problem is studio 14 is not eligible for the Window 7 upgrade program. Any other suggestions besides this 2 laptops? Thanks~ Asus F81Se or BenQ S42 if really dun need the GPU, u can consider Acer Aspire Timeline as well... Try the studio15 with T6500, it's Rm2799 with 500gb hdd promotion and win7 upgrade availbe, add 100-200 for Full HD LCD (since you mention you would do graphic work) shudnt cost over 3k and your good to go.

Hi guys, planning on getting a lappy in a month or so..or maybe 2 months to be bringing over to the uk.
1. Brand. recommendations anyone?
2. Budget. ~rm4.5k
3. Specs. don't know much about the specs but in terms of priority GC>processor>monitor. But I'm hoping to be able to get a good screen as well, so the cpu and screen priorities are almost the same. (I'll be doing most of my cpu intensive work on a workstation)
4. Size. not below 15"
I was looking at dell studio 16 then saw the asus g51vx. So, i'm looking for something in terms of those lines. Think I could get some recommendations with my budget?

QUOTE(astria @ Jul 22 2009, 02:49 PM) BenQ S57, Dell Studio XPS 16 thanks for the recommendation, the benq one looks pretty good, how's the build quality, warranty & price like? I don't think ill be getting the xps16 since i would spend waaay too much on the screen. What about other brands?
