for design and ps, GPU's acceleration is still pretty limited, i would rather put the money in CPU and RAM instead...

but rm2k a bit hard to get u an Intel laptop leh... laugh.gif

maybe try Compaq CQ40 instead la... either those with Pentium Dual Core and integrated graphic, or AMD Turion x2 with integrated HD3200... the turion option has HD3450 to choose as well...

if purely for ur work only, i prefer the Pentium choice, but if u do ve a little games after work, i would choose Turion x2 with HD3450 instead...

Thanks for your reply Astria,
but i no like the Compaq CQ40 design sad.gif

Finally 3 to choose :

1 ) Dell Studio 1555, like it too.. after customize around 3.7K, but need wait nearly 3 weeks or 1 months to delivery =.= ~
no bag, no mouse.....

2) Gateway ID58, 15.6, P8600,DDR3 105M, like the design of the notebook, RM 3299
but only 105M sad.gif ( Free Gateway bag )

3) K40AB, save more $ RM 1999 only , 4570 is ok for me, just scared the CPU performance & the temperature sad.gif ( Free Asus Bag, Asus Mouse )

The note is use for design work ( photoshop & flash) and do some presentation when meet a client...
also use for online & play some game wink.gif

how abt Studio 14 instead???

up the CPU to at least T6400, then GPU get HD3450 instead of the integrated one... and cheaper than the Gateway as well...

seriously when comes to design work, it's good to get a better CPU...

for design work, i would prefer ATi cards instead... conventionally, ATi gives better colour than Nvidia...

as for gaming performance, well, both are juz abt the same perormance...q

hey guys, I'm looking for a laptop that can handle maya & autocad. From the way I've experienced it, built in graphics are not the way to go ; so which model would you guys recommend? Dell / HP ? tq!

That's nothing in the world that is guaranteed, you could get a Mac or Sony but they can phailed you anytime too....
Extend your warranty if you no confident....

About your laptop, since you have quite a budget there, get any laptop with discrete graphic card would do, just AVOID G8series.
