was thinking to get this but it's kinda heavy rite? and with warranty it is over my budget d...

anyway wut color is available for this model? izit only blue?

thanks!~

The 1 year warranty is included, unless if you wanted to extend it. You can always customize it at dell.com.my. Heavy? Not so if you take 6 cells battery, 9 cells really heavy. 15inch laptop is of course heavier than 13/14 inch, but it depends. I carry my Dell Studio 1537 everywhere, didn't feel a bit at all laugh.gif

Ok, I'll be going to PC fair and 99% be buying a laptop below RM2199.

I just want the best specs and 3 years warranty @ this price. Brand doesn't matter.

So what models I should be nego-ing freebies for at the pc fair?

Acer models. I not pro about Acer model but as far as my knowledge on 3 years extended warranty, Acer definitely offer the cheapest warranty extension. I doubt you can get other model such as Asus or Compaq with 3 years warranty on a 2.2k budget. Browsing the pdf file that uploaded by the shops in LYP will help on Pc Fair laptop hunt.

I would suggest for Studio 15 or Dell SXPS 16 if your friend have extra budget. These two laptop running on ATI so performance wise, it is enough to support the game that you mentioned. Price wise and spec wise, Dell have an upper hand on Asus, so go for Dell.

Asus Eee Series seems okay.

Eee1000H
RM1599, Up to 7 hours of mobile computing.

Pricier ones would be S101H(RM1999) or 1002HA (RM1799), but they only last up to 5 hours.

Full specs here:
http://event.asus.com/my/2009/pcfair/index.htm

Scroll to the last two, bright green pages. The 1000H has the same specs as the 1000HE (sold out at PC fair), only it lasts 7 hours and costs RM1599.

Hi, I'm looking for a small laptop/netbook for my dad. Around 10" of size. Nothing more than 1.5kg with 6cell preferably. If not, 3 cell is fine. The problem is, my dad need to be on the go type. Internet is a problem, so he need his 3G all the time as WiMax is not exactly anywhere can access. Any suggestion on such laptop? Money is not exactly an object, but 3-4k can be quite a lot.

Or just using Bluetooth with his phone as a modem a better choice? He's using Nokia N81 by the way.

Oh and, its mostly for work. Internet, email, office suite. Thats pretty much it.

Eh I apologize for the mistake. Here's the proper format

Brand - Anything (No Acer please).
Budget - < RM3000
Specs - Doesnt have to be high spec. Just need to do some simple office work but hard disk needs to be big. There will be A LOT of work/files. Preferably with 3G capabilities. Also Windows XP/Vista. No linux please. Lightweight is mandatory.
Size - <10"

Harlow, im planning to buy a laptop at the end of this year...

Brand- Any reliable brand that's worth it. (No sony, no Apple, no Fujitsu)<--expensive

Budget- RM5000 plus minus

Specs- At least 4gb RAM, Good graphic card, have numeric keypad, back lit keyboard is a bonus.

Size- Screen 15" and above, portability not much of a problem..

Usage- AutoCAD, Photoshop, Video editing once in a while, Gaming (MUST be able to run Test Drive Unlimited). lol. Internet surfing, etc etc common stuff.

Extra- I'm eyeing HP HDX16 but the price =(... Since I'm going to buy at the end of the year, i need to plan n budget myself.

Thank you to all the gurus here. =D
