But it's the fact ... maybe maxis is catering the phone to a different group where money is not an object to them and getting the phone is everything if it means costing an arm and a leg.

For me it's still not worth it. They even dare to ask my wife to get another 2 years contract if she wants to get the phone. She's already on their 2 years contract, why don't just upgrade that to the package and ensure lots more customer on their iphone bandwagon. Asking people to pay for 2 phone lines and another years of contract is just simple ridiculous.

Whooa ... Maxis would LOOOVE to have you on their plan. Pay without knowing what you use.

Don't mind me .. i'm just blabbering from this med i'm taking. Blasted toothache.

Mmm ... come to think of it, if it's going to be official in malaysia then there might be a firmware upgrade in the near future as Malaysia is not 'officially' supported in the latest firmware?

And we know how maxis 3G coverage is like. Do you think it's worth it to get the 'Official Malaysia' iPhone when you already have one?

Added on March 14, 2009, 1:28 pmMaybe they're still changing it? If you go to the apple malaysia iphone section, there's a reference to iphone accessories but it's not fully functioning yet as it only takes us to the apple online store and not to the iphone section of the store. Just a thought.

If Maxis isn't recognized then the deal was between Singtel/Singapore and Apple Asia instead of the big ol' infinite loop? Sounds fishy.

MMm .... I think the APN setting can be enable back by tweaking the carrier bundles? It's been a long time since i godek2 those settings but there are lots of option you can specify in the carrier bundles.

Part number might be same but not the serial number. If the serial number is not registered in singtel or maxis system, do u think they will honour the warranty?
