You only violate the contract if you stop/terminate using the line. If you want to use your SIM card on another phone, that's also fine (as long as you continue to pay for 12 months/24 months as per contract). You can slot in Celcom/Digi or other operator SIM into your Maxis Iphone to make calls, sms BUT certain data transfer will not work as they are locked. I haven't tested this out to make sure it's true though.
The iphone sold in Maxis does not allow you to configure the data profile, and therefore to use data (maxis iphone) in other operator, you have to depend on the availability of the wifi spot. Otherwise, it will be no fun without data mobility. I haven't tested this out to make sure it's true though.hope that help. If you are technical enough, in short is, you can't change the APN of the iphone.
