If you noticed, the price isn't far from the pricing of those SG set seller. Maxis studied the pricing, jack it up a lil because they have advantage over the warranty?
Yeah, basically the SG/Australia/NZ grey market iPhone prices gives Maxis an idea of what consumers are willing to pay.
So they based their rate plans around these prices. They figured with local warranty, customers might be willing to pay a bit more, hence, their current prices.
And if I absolutely have to buy an iPhone now and am an existing Maxis customer, I might just take the 6 month contract. Why not? Pay extra RM1-200 and get local warranty + 500mb per month.
