Er.. pay per use?! Well I haven't received my 1st month Maxis bill since I started using my phone on an "Unlimited" basis so can't really say if it's going to cost U 2 arms and 2 legs but U may want to refer to the other thread re data usage.

When it comes to iPhone ... better get unlimited data package or later you'll cry when you receive your bills. Seen so many people already complained about iPhone sucking their prepaid or exorbitant data bills.

Well, come to think of it, it's kinda worth it at RM99! I'm wif DiGi with unlimited Edge at RM66/mth. But u got 3G!!! Faster alot....

Unfortunately I don't think I been fully utilising my plan!

if ur not into tethering..500mb shud be enuf wat. jus use ur 3g data wen no wifi around d area.. wifi is quite easy to find nowdays. faster n can save cost on 3g aswell

I do use Internet Tether for when I'm at meetings and there's no internet connection; except I haven't utilised it once at all this month! *ish*

Btw I was supposed to test Internet Tethering with the i3GS on 2 or more machines, where was I suppose to post my findings on it oredi ah? Anyone remember?!

Yes a bit free in the office lately; should be working hard to bring in biz but I lazy lah *grins* And sentiments aren't great Ok I'll do a test and post it up here then Wil do it once I'm done with lunchie

Hi All,

Just done testing for Internet Tethering using i3GS as a "hub" through BT. It works albeit a lil slow hence won't recommend it for sharing purposes

And this is being posted through BT connection on XPS [the above line was through MBP]

i don't travel a lot.. my office has a wifi already.. so as my home (screamyx!), i tink its such a waste if wanna subscibre RM99/mth just for internet access..

Only you yourself will know what your usage is going to be like. If U can handle NOT using the data then by all means no problemos I did that for a whole year but it's really no point using the iPhone if you aren't gonna make use of its functions and features

Er.. I didn't activate my data plan because I felt it was no point paying the RM99 since I couldn't Internet Tether. Instead, I used it as a phone. Now that I've opened my unlimited data plan, I intend to just make full use of it

I don't YouTube so I guess it helps on the amount of data coming in

if we opt for the maxis mobile broadband plan of rm99/month (without iphone), we will have unlimited bandwidth

but if we pickup an iphone together with 12mths contract of iData plan at rm99/month, we only have bandwidth of 3g per month?

am i correct?

Not true. The Unlimited Data Plan at RM99 p/month by Maxis is capped at 3GB whether U use it with an iPhone or not.

then why call it UNLIMITED plan

i tink ur wrong, tinker...oni d iphone plans are limited. d mobile is unlimited. but depends on how u see d word "unlimited". after a few gb of usage, i guess ull b throttled (i tink dats d corrct word). haha.

iphone plan- 3gb = overuse, u gotta pay.
unlimited data = overuse, no need to pay.

this is what the maxis site shows, literally.

It is very clear already. registration closing at 10am bcoz tat's the time they need to pull down the picture and update with the pricing plans.
