Was told by Maxis staff at PC Fair that if our data usage exceed RM250.. it automaticly converted to unlimited data package? How true is this?

yes. that's true. RM250 will be the maximum amount charged to any Maxis user for data usage.

triangulating your location (using the satellite) does not incur any data charges. however on the other hand, loading maps do.

"As stated previously, when using a Maxis SIM the APN is preconfigured. However when you use another carrier's SIM the APN settings page reappears."

guys, i went into the Network settings on my newly acquired iPhone, i cant see the APN settings when loaded with Maxis sim card, so does this mean i'm safe? it wont use EDGE when I'm surfing the net right? just to be sure...

erm, but i'm using the i-value plan. I just dun wanna be incur any edge data charges while surfing the net. Its okay if it uses my 3G data since i'll have around 500MB to spare each month. anyone can confirm this cos i really cant find the settings as mentioned.
