I have some few basic queries about Iphone 3G:

1. The 8GB and 16GB is only the difference of storage space. Everything else is the same (RAM, processor speed, etc)?
2. I heard we can't delete a single sms individually, is this true? How about call logs?
3. Are there any ways to block/blacklist phone/sms from a certain party with the Iphone or can I say if someone from this number sms, it will be moved to a certain secure folder, etc?

That's all for now, someone please help this noob (me) biggrin.gif

I tried to create a ringtone from MP3 (converter to M4R) and my Itunes PC folder is able to detect it but everytime I sync, the phone doesn't detect the ringtone? What can be wrong? Don't tell me I can only import a single ringtone?! This is so tiring, sigh.

Oh, you mean I have to play the ringtone for it to be successfully detected and sync-ed to the phone?

I notice that the call log doesn't segregate between incoming/outgoing calls. Do you guys install any apps to make it work better? How do I delete a specific number instead of the whole list?

I believe the behaviour of the phone is that when you're on a call for some time, Iphone will automatically dim/turn off display and only when you move, it'll come back up. The thing is, when the other side hangs up, there seem to be a lag whereby I can't see the screen and pressing home/power button gives no response. I'll have to wait 5-6 secs to get something out working again.

Is this normal?

No lag at all? Holy smoke, sometimes the screen has a lag coming out (it's not immediate). Even the rotation of Safari, photo, etc is 2-3 secs lag sometimes. How do I fix it?

of course there are lil lags when comes to screen rotation in iPod for CoverFlow & Safari in Landscape mode but not till a stage which it troubles me. even scrolling through my long list of contacts can be laggy sometimes, same for Camera Roll. but i don't notice a lag in the call screen you mentioned earlier. smile.gif

Thanks. Btw, I tried having 3G on/off and to my surprise, 3G drains the battery so so much faster. OMG shakehead.gif Is there we can do to improve battery life?

Btw, in my usage screen, I can't seem to see the battery level. The "Usage" and "Standby" gives a "---" only?

Anyone here uses MobileLog? If I receive a call and want to save the number into my contacts, how can I do it? I can't seem to find the option?

Can some of you share what is your available free memory normally? Previously when I just got my phone, my available is always 50-60MB free on a fresh restart. Currently I only have around 30-40MB. I'm not sure which application is taking it up sad.gif

I got this "free memory" information from SBSettings (latest version).

You can try "MobileLog" but beware as installing it would result in your Skype not being able to work correctly even with the latest mobile substrate smile.gif

Thanks guys but I recently saw a new application in Cydia being able to do the job. Is there a better and easier way to connect apart from using http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/831923?
