So far it looks the best among all to me.

If it's good, i might as my other half to send it back to me since my other half is in US for studies.

I might be able to help bring a few back if theres demand.

I didn't use any case or anything on it. Cuz I take care my phone very careful. Some crystal case even make the phone worst, left some scratches. ish.. cannot tahan.

It just feels very naked to hold the phone without any casing. I think my gorilla hands too big.

Later go cari mirror effect screen protector. Kalau don't have go garage sale to buy.

Uh.. Talking about screen protector.. Mine comes with the phone (2nd hand) many finger prints on it. Easy to cop finger prints.

Is there any screen protector that can cut down finger prints? Really hate the current 1. Somemore got 1bubble bottom of it.

At least it will save me the trouble from walking to my mirror.

Mine doesnt have a screen protector but its equally as bad. I see the amount of fingerprints also i pengsan. Yesterday i wipe i think got 50 times.

you can get anti fingerprint SP , then your screen will not get finger print, but your screen will not will not as clear as before because anti fingerprint sp is not a clear type.

ask anyone (especially those on maxis) who has used the 2G and an officially unlocked 3G before, i'm pretty sure that they can tell you that there are vast differences between those two.

i have used 6 sp since i bought the iphone.From my experience the worst i use is mirror sp.Easy to scratch and got many fingerprints. Then im not satisfy i bought another one mirror sp, this time are more more expensive. It was sad to see cos easy to scratch.Then i tried matte/anti glare, really satisfy me for few months,then i realised that the brightness are so dim.Finally i change back to clear type normal one. RM15 each.

My advise,if u want to use mirror sp,must bundle with leather casing like n95 so it wont scratch the sp.
Matte or anti glare type suitable for all casing type.No fingerprints and scratch proof but very dim.
Clear type. Scratch proof better than mirror type.
Make sure u guys bought the full cover sp,some without covered at home button.The dust will stick at home button if not full covered.

Thank you for the explanation. I've so far tried 2 types of screen protector - mirror and normal. Both like you said, are prone to fingerprints and scratches. I am looking forward for an anti-glare/matt type screen protector. The price at Garage Sales is a bit steep though - RM35. I don't really mind turning up my screen brightness to compensate the dimness caused by the screen protector though. But does the surface feels like an 'emboss book wrapper'? Sorry for being overly particular about it

Between iPhone and iTouch ... Its basically almost the same right ? What about the music playback ? Version must be update everytime ? If I wanna save all the trouble ... Which is more recommended ?

People would opt for official unlock rather than the "unlock" by software version. Why u ask? Because the hassle to wait for an unlock everytime apple release new baseband. New baseband will counter back the software unlock. Official unlock on the other hand won't need to worry ... they can upgrade the firmware without worrying that the phone will be locked again. They just need to wait for the jailbreaking to install other 3rd party app.

If you can stand using a stock phone with just apps from AppStore then don't JB but if you want to spice things up with themes, other great 3rd party app from Cydia as an add on to AppStore, solve the number matching thingy, foward SMS (via biteSMS) or transfering songs without itunes then whatcha waitin' for.

For me ... I can't live without jailbreaking the phone. Its like having a PC with just Windows on it without other programs (not comparing to Mac coz u can get up and running just with the preloaded apps). BTW ... I like to explore and know how things work. BUT (there a but also) ... jailbreaking means opening up the system for user access ... so if you don't know what you are doing ... then you might end up screwing it more that getting benefits from it.

In the end ... its your choice and preferences to jailbreak or not. Not like there's someone twisting your arm to JB right?

Jailbreak when u need to and not because everyone are doing it (this only applies to iPhone 3G official unlock version). iPhone 2G still need to jailbreak so we can activate and unlock the phone ... so no choice la ...have to jailbreak.

It is so sensitive that even if u move a file/folder into a root folder, it will cause ur iphone totally stuck in the lockscreen. Nway if no JB, u wont maximize the potential of ur iphone!

as i know jail break means allow u to use 3rd party software in ur iphone.

but what does it means? does it means if u don jail break means u totally cant use any app from cydia/installer???
only can use those app from apple store?

if u didnt JB then u will not hav the cydia/installer means u cant install 3rd party software.there's a way to install those app that needs to pay in appstore for free too.

A non JB'ed iphone will not be able to install any apps from Cydia/Installer will not be availble to you but you can purchase apps or download free apps from AppStore.

A JB'ed iphone can have both Cydia/Installer and Apps from AppStore.


Please support them developers as they put time n efford providing us good apps to use and in return, we should give back something as a token of appreciation.

geez. Iphone 3G at NZ$ 979 is very tempting considering it's only at about 1.9 ringgit to one NZ dollar.

err slightly higher than that la, it is around 1.97 according to yahoo finance. and normally u'll pay around 2+ when u buy the currency from bank or so...but i predict this is a very short term thingy, as NZD always fluctuate a lot...+ this sudden low rate might be cause by the NZ reserve bank cutting OCR late last week.

Same goes to AUD as well. It is hitting the lowest in 5years. Iphones are selling like hot cakes here but mostly bought by foreigners with USD.

There r some china made iphone clones which have even better functions than iphone like supporting dual sim and be able to fwd sms and mms.

I am looking into buying unused/used 8GB AND 16GB FIRST GEN / 2Giphone BOXES.

I am looking to pay RM 50 for the 8GB box, and RM 100 for the 16gb box. Price for the 8GB im willing to negotiate, however for teh 16GB i stand firm.


The box MUST contain the Outer and Inner box, Folded Cardboard Manual holder, Manual, disclaimer, and the plastic phone platform.


I DO NOT REQUIRE THE PHONE, HEADPHONES, CHARGER, CABLE, and DOCK.

They should be of good condition, with no dents or major scratches.

Of course i've posted this on the Garage Sales section, but just an additional post here for exposure. The reason im looking for these itmes are for collection/display purposes. =)
