The Fieldrunners 1.2 update is starting to propagate across Apple’s iTunes servers so users are starting to get update notifications for the latest update to Subatomic’s popular tower defense game.
The latest version of the game offers a number of improvements and additions:
Mortar tower. With a destructive payload & explosive force the mortar tower obliterates enemies in a single devastating attack. Flame tower. The flame tower is capable of incinerating multiple fieldrunners in a single fiery swoop. New Map: Drylands. With multiple paths snaking thru the dried-out canyon riverbed, it gives the fieldrunners ample chance to escape. New Fieldrunner: the P-47 Thunderbolt. These blazing fast planes tear through the sky over the fields at an incredible speed. Sell without penalty. A tower that is both purchased and sold while the game is paused will not incur a score or price penalty. Faster load times. The time required to start a new game or resume a previously saved game has been significantally reduced. Updated game icon. The game icon has been changed to reflect the color palette of the new map. Improved lightning visuals. The lightning bolt discharged by the tesla tower now emits light and animates more realistically. Autosave. The autosave feature saves your progress every round to protect you against crashes or freezes.
The game is a hardcore on-rails action shooter in which you control a mech. The video shows the intro as well as the various options and mech choices. It also plays through the first level with its boss fight and into the beginning of level 2. There are 5 levels in all.
Ketara Software has released their first space shooter SpaceX [App Store] as a free download for a limited time. The developer describes his intention:
The idea was to make a fun, fast-paced, and beautiful and deep game which invokes the feeling of the early 90s shooters I used to play as a kid. As you fly more missions, you can upgrade your ship, weapon systems, etc., and control the ship using touches or tilt controls.
The game offers a traditional vertical scrolling shoot’em-up with tilt or touch controls as well as a number of upgrades in between levels.
The game is split into 6 missions with multiple stages (4-5) within each mission. A total of 60 stages are provided and can range in length. The game involves driving your tank and destroying enemy tanks while avoiding enemy fire. Controls are very well suited to the iPhone and involve left/right tilt for tank movement. Tapping at your target to fire and tapping on a lever to jump.
With my limited time with the game (Mission 3), it progresses in difficulty, though the basic mechanic stayed the same. It involves shooting and jumping (dodging) your way through levels. One strange omission, however, is the lack of collision detection between your tank and the enemy tanks. You can just drive right through them (though you do need to destroy the bosses to progress).
The best aspect of the game is the number of powerup weapons and upgrades you can get for your tank. Powerful weapons upgrades include a machine gun, shotgun, howitzer (high-angle gun), missile, laser, nuclear bomb and more. You have to be judicious about your use of these weapons, however, as you only get a limited supply of each as you go on. Worked much better to reserve these weapons for “boss” enemies rather than waste them on the minor players.

Gameplay Trailer of Paramount’s Upcoming ‘Shooter’ Game
Tired of “Tap-to-Target” shooting games? It looks like Paramount’s upcoming movie-inspired Shooter game could be the answer.
The promo video they’ve provided shows off a very nice-looking sniper-type game in which you are in control of the aiming. Few gameplay details were provided but it appears that you may use a combination the iPhone’s tilt-control (or an onscreen directional pad) for aiming while on screen buttons control the firing and reloading action.
Gameloft Delivers ‘Wild West Guns’
Gameloft has released their latest iPhone game Wild West Guns [App Store, $4.99]. While it is another “tap to shoot” targeting game, as always, Gameloft delivers a well polished experience and adds extras to keep it interesting. The game involves your typical target-shooting but also adds environmental bonus targets to shoot (passing birds, rats, bandits).
Features listed include:
18 challenges featuring typical Far West environments (saloons, deserts, stables, trains, etc.) Diverse targets and enemies (cowboys, sheriffs, signs, flying sombreros, balloons, vultures) Interactive backgrounds that allow you to shoot elements in the environment to earn more points Extended lifespan thanks to 5 different game modes Exclusive weapons available only in this iPhone version: enjoy using the shotgun for extended damage and the machine gun to blast the background Use the touch screen to aim and shoot and the accelerometer to free yourself from the grip of an enemy

iDracula
Chillingo’s forthcoming iPhone hack-’n'-slash monster smasher iDracula, developed by the creator of Orions: Legend of Wizards.
It’s a point, shoot and run affair — stop to bag the goodies, guns and power-ups but watch out for the werewolves and other bad guys.
Chillingo has recently tweeted a few updates, including a link to two new in-game screenshots posted to our forums. The publisher indicates that the game is nearly complete and will be submitted to the App Store “soon, soon!”
It’s actually a survival shooter. You begin with a simple gun and slow/weak monsters, and as the time passes, they grow stronger and faster, dropping better weapon. You will also be able to gain “perks”, as you earn enough experience. There are 6 different weapons - Gun, Rifle, Crossbow, Grenade Launcher, Machine Gun and BFG (yes, it’s big). We have also implemented a very nice multitouch controls, so you’re like using two sticks to control a hero, and it’s very cool. It is also the most intense game in the appstore.

greetings all sifu, i have a problem with my iphone. Details as below:-
1. 3g Iphone 16gb 2. Used quickpwn to jailbreak 3. Unlock with yellowsn0w
My problem is whenever i sms it does not appear the sender's name, i have figured that whenever someone call it will appeared 012-2xxxxxx but when sms will be +6012-2xxxxxx. Can anyone help me in this matter?
The problem you are facing has been in discussion since 1st gen of the iPhone. Please read the thread below and do keep yourself updated with the iPhone progress if you don't mind.
This is not a RPG kind of game by any means. It has no storyline, no NPC, no other locations. It is actually the same genre as Crimsonland or Alien Shooter on a PC - only one level, but a lot of replayability to beat the high score. There’s also a Perk system like the one in Crimsonland or Fallout, it adds to replayability, too.
However, it’s just amazingly fun - the video is on early stages of the game, and doesn’t show the real fun behind.
The game will initially have one level (come on, it’s .99), however the update will be released in less than 2 weeks. This update will include more monsters, two new levels and probably new game modes. Probably more perks and some other features too.
Also, please understand that $.99 price is the introductory price, while the normal price is $2.99. We are also considering a “premium” version of the game, which will include a RPG-like system, a story, lots of levels and different actions (and obviously, a higher price).
To answer the latest question - it’s not the autofire. You can release the button and the character stops shooting.
Please take sometime to read the rest of the thread linked by g3n0c|d3. Ths will help you to know the iPhone better as the thread was made from and for "iPhone For Dummies".
Cheers

Giving iPhone serial number is a no no but you can provide the Part No that's on the back of box. You can take a snapshot of the iPhone box with the Pat No but blank out the serial number.

Konami also reveals that they will be delivering the game in two editions. The special “advance release edition” will come first and you will be able to save your progress for the “final release” due later. The final release will be a free update to advance release owners.
