I have some few basic queries about Iphone 3G:

1. The 8GB and 16GB is only the difference of storage space. Everything else is the same (RAM, processor speed, etc)?
2. I heard we can't delete a single sms individually, is this true? How about call logs?
3. Are there any ways to block/blacklist phone/sms from a certain party with the Iphone or can I say if someone from this number sms, it will be moved to a certain secure folder, etc?

in addition, for the Caller ID fix for iphone 3G, when i google, there are a few methods compared to the method listed in the GUIDE FOR MALAYSIA IPHONE USERS in lowyat.

iclarified suggested to use callerID fix 2.2 , meanwhile lowyat suggested to transfer the file via SSH.

which method is more safe ?

for iphone tunnel suite 2.7, u must set ur device 1st, and still it wanted wifi IP right? just put rubbish IP but on the setting itself choose tunnel and not wifi... the password is alpine... try it....

now for caller id fix 2.2, its better just to download frm cydia and it will automatically installed in ur iphone. now why should u be with urself? hahahah good luck!

how bout when we wanna use back the internet?? is it need to set again the APN??

i have not tried this before as i do not disable my internet (network) connection. but if i were to guess, the reset network settings maneuver should restore it back nicely

Hi, this is a noob iPhone question, I know. But I do need some help and advise.

I have an iPod Touch as well. If I plug in to the computer synccing with my previous iPod Touch...will all the mp3 files and applications get dumped into my iPhone as well? Or it will sync seperately.

you are asking this question in the wrong thread. anyway to make things less complex, i will answer it promptly.

no problem at all as i'm using both an iPhone and the iPod touch. just make sure that the apple id (linked to the iTunes account) is synchronised to both devices. that way the license can be shared.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I noticed recently that if I disabled the APN settings using custom maxis.ipcc and/or bossprefs, the 3G won't work as well. Is it just me or some of you guys experience the same thing?

Sorry, still don't kinda get it. So it will sync my iPod Touch mp3s into my iPhone? That's what I understand.

The thing is, I don't want them to sync. I have lots of stupid applications in my iTouch and large amount of songs that I do not want to have it go into my iPhone. Is there a way to seperate sync?

I just noticed that the Safari google page defaults to google.com.sg (using a Singtel set). Any way to change it to default to google.com.my?

for the love of God, just trying to spend like 20 minutes (just 20!), fiddling around the iTunes and everything is there. where is the joy of satisfaction when one manage to figure something by himself/herself?

when you plug in your iPhone (or any iPod devices) there is an option for you to select the desired application that you want to synchronise. i have like 100 over downloaded applications but there are only 15 on my springboard. ringing any bells?

and for the song management aspect, it wouldn't hurt to create playlists.

Create a new playlist in iTunes and rename. Place your songs in them. Under Music pane, select the playlist you made and SYNC.

Summary Pane

Select “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected” to have iTunes sync iPhone automatically whenever you connect it to your computer. Deselect this option if you want to sync only by clicking the Sync button in iTunes.
