4890 is really hot. after gaming for a while i can feel the heat coming out of my casing. never with my gtx 260 and 4870 card.

well in real life. i do favor the 4890 in every way.
looks stable. my leftf4dead doesn't jam after playing for longtime.
feel faster. for me i would pick this rather than a 260 anytime.
never feel regret from choosing this over galaxy 285.
maybe some of you dont believe me but its what i feel.

my 4870 is 45c idle compared to 4890 at 64c.
i had to push my fan to 60% in order to cool down my card at 50c range.
those with not so good ventilation with their casing i suggest wait for the 3rd party cooler version of the 4890.

Added on April 6, 2009, 12:51 amthose who contradict either to buy 4890 or gtx 260. get 4890.
you can get some cheap brand 4890 for only 849 from garage sales
compared to 760 for gtx 260. unless your a nvidia fanboy.

im planning to crossfire this card after my i7 upgrade.

This card is shorter than GTX 260 if im not mistaken. Share the same similarities with 2900XT.
Yes it does goes to 80c if you played l4d for 4 hours.

Other issue for games? I hardly have the times to play games.
like me i push the fan to 60% and without any oc yet.

GTX 275? Never tested it and not going to buy it. Happy with my 4890 and sticking to it.
With they would come out with a ICEQ or Golden Sample version soon.
If the thermal improvement is there, I may consider buying it.

as in my case. i have a lot of fans so it does not make a big difference in terms of fan noise.
50-60% noise is around the same. thats why i stick to 60%.
but i do feel the heat from the casing compared to the 4870 and 260 even at night time.

It doesn't sound like a hairdryer. Side by side comparison. Hairdryer wins if 4890 in 60%.
100% is also not comparable to the hair dryer.

Show off the heat sink and mean red theme of Ati.

3.7? Can easily get 4.1 on that chip. You 4890 deserve a faster cpu.

800W and abv..1kW psu recommended but must not be ayam psu, psu with 80% certified is recommended..Corsair HX1000 would be nice to CF dis 2 monsters

Dont need 1k, it is and overkill 850 is more than enough to power up.
Its even can run with a 750w real power psu.
Im using corsair tx850w.

noob here
Corsair TX750W Power Supply single rail@60A SLI ready certified.
so can this 1 use to cross fire??
and how the performance of this psu?noisy not??or hot??
*
It can run crossfire even its not certified.
Single rail provides the best stable output.
Its not noisy and TX series is a very popular tier 1 psu.
