lol its only leading like 6-7 frames per-game and i am talking about 4890 at stock speed....and u are paying like 100 bucks more for that than the 4870? as i seen at garage sales they are selling like 900+ ....think about it

lol 10.1 or not doesnt matter much....if it matter so much nvidia would have already gone to dx10.1....this card is suppose to be a response to gtx 260 core 216....it did better than 260 alright but not by a huge margin....probably gtx 275 would surpass its performance again....anyway its pretty close between the 2 cards either way

not to mention nvidia cards consume less wattage compared to the radeon cards

since u own both gtx 260 and 4890....do u think the performance increase on the 4890 worth the money? and izzit much faster than the gtx 260?

temperature is the issue here though...my current case is pretty cramp and my objective was to make my system as quiet as possible....piumiu what other games are u having problem with gtx 260 other than L4D?... i had problems with source engine games too in the past mainly stuttering problems...seems to be running fine on my 8800gt though

personally i would take gtx 275 if i you want a more silent card but higher load temp....4890 is good too but slightly more noisy but lower load temp....also must take into consideration is your casing space....gtx 275 is friggin long at 10.5 inch

but u got to consider the amount of noise it generates..i am pretty sure OC edition will be even louder than it already is....i think should wait for gainward to come up with a goldensample version

QUOTE(X.E.D @ Apr 12 2009, 10:07 PM) well its quite obvious OC should generate more heat...hot = fan spin faster?QUOTE(Jcsy @ Apr 12 2009, 10:24 PM) gainward golden samples are the best meh? well my friend using 4850 golden sample...very quiet and keeps the temperature around 60 degress region at full load...i guess any non-reference cooler should do a good job cooling the cardhow about HIS or ASUS ? those cards should be great OC'ers with good cooling / noise This post has been edited by Pro-MX: Apr 13 2009, 02:39 AM |

LOL...thats the idea of stress testing...so we should use quake 3 time demo as stress test perhaps? since furmark is way too demanding for your oh so high end ATI card...seriously wanna overclock use aftermarket coolers...4890 reference cooler is just not good enough

QUOTE(sniper69 @ Apr 13 2009, 02:56 PM) well but mine... 60°C on load (GTA IV, BF2) as in the screenshot taken... u arent running any games...what do u mean 60c on load? ![]() the fan speed at auto mode, if IIANM at 32% fan speed... the memory IO temp is the one i'm worrying... quite high, even once hit 80°C at 4600MHz... QUOTE(ConquerorX @ Apr 19 2009, 06:44 PM) Errr.. I'm still stuck with my decision whether to get GTX260, HD4870 or HD4890 (by adding RM200-RM300) well do u think its worth it for that extra 10-15% performance increase(depends on the game) worth RM200-300? i dont think so but thats up to u to decide...i am pretty much happy with the gtx 260 until the next big thing comes out which is the gtx 300 and Radeon 5000 seriesby the way, your opinion is very much contradict This post has been edited by Pro-MX: Apr 19 2009, 10:16 PM |
