So after changing my hair style to short and spiky, and using Gatsby and Loreal studio wax, I went to get Fudge Matte Hed Extra from Shins...at RM69, i wonder how it will perform against RM20 wax...
First thought, wax clay are similar, like putting semi liquid candle on the hair, how can a RM69 compare to RM20 stuff?
The fudge bottle is also only half full, designed that way..again...RM69...well, I just give it a try.
Review:
It takes fraction of the time to style the hair compared to cheaper waxs, because it sticks God like, yet, still allow uphold to do fine adjustments on the spikes. Yeah ppl can say even cheapo wax can do that, haha...but with fudge you can Style hair in a matter of seconds. You really can't do that on ordinary wax / clay.
The texture is also just right, and matt looking, I know cheapo wax say matt look, but fudge matte is really matt looking. Please apply it on dry hair only. It works best that way
The spikes stay in position like forever, and since I sometimes need to wear a cap during work, it still stay upright after I take off the cap, of course you can't wear the cap too tightly.
It feels very light and natural. Unlike some wax where you feel like its becoming a headache to use.
And the best thing is washing it out, even using water heater no need shampoo can wash it away. My hair feels healthly.
Verdict: It's miles ahead of those RM20 waxs and clays. No wonder ppl say to cheapo wax are just rubbish. Now I get it. But the 'Fudge matte hed extra' price of RM69 is just too high. I recommend it 100% if you can get a cheaper source. I'll just enjoy mine until it finishes. I really like it....smell great too, maybe I'll try some other premium wax and clay as well.
True that the price tag seems high. But for me the price is acceptable, as im using osis wax + hairspray, whicch the comebine cost are roughly the same.. Rm 3x for wax and rm4x for hairspray
