Mr whoppa You can try xilisoft it supports all format including rmvb

Ah, I have this and it craps all over my MKVs... No subs are rendered even in the preview, somehow... sweat.gif

Gave up and went back to Allok + Avidemux... sweat.gif

*repost, in case some of you missed it...

1. Bitrate = the quality of the video, how tiny is the dot in your movie similiar to what we have as our desktop resolution, so for easy understanding i would say Bitrate = Video resolution

2. Resolution = it actually represent how big is the actual size of the video... you can have 1920 x 1080 size video in your tube, but if you have the bitrate of 64 then you can go die.. cuz the quality sux badly....

3. Framerate = how many frame is played per second, higher framerate meaning bigger filesize but smoother transition in the video... it goes like this: if you have 1FPS meaning 1 frame per second, your video will be like a slide show... switch picture every 1 second, but if you have 20FPS then you will have 20 pictures switched in 1 second.

so when it comes to setting: (if you play on your tube without streaming on TV)

1. Bitrate = less than 256kbps
2. Resolution = 320 x 180 (since this is the actual size of your tube)
3. Framerate = 25 or below, 20 or above (i noticed some minor lag when i use 30fps)
4. Audio bitrate = 64k (you dont need such high quality sound if you're playing on your tube, since it wont make significant difference.)
5. Output format = *.*MP4, Video codec: Mpeg-4, audio codec: AMR or FLAC

above is setting is for long lasting playing duration, smaller filesize and optimal quality for almost every video... *note: above setting not suitable for streaming via TV

if you are streaming on TV, later part after i finish my guide.. i'll post it up...
*
Actually:

Bitrate = Quality of Video = How well the video is rendered.

Bitrate = Reso, too simplistic a term as a 1200kbps video encoded at 320x240 will STILL be ass blocky (to my eyes anyhow). Reso is still very improtant IMHO, and I can never go below 640x352 (even then feel stretched a bit, need to switch off stretch aspect ratio on Realplayer).

But in terms of settings, yeah, each for their own, EC... I personally go for (keep in mind I use Allok for the convenience and speed, gave up on Super OR Handbrake some time ago):

1. Bitrate = High/Good (Variable BitRate (VBR) settings on Allok = around 1000 average for High, 800-900 average for Good)
2. Resolution = 640 x 352 forced 16:9 aspect ratio (since this is the nearest I can ever get to the actual 640x360 RESOLUTION of your tube, wasted IMHO if set lower. BUT EC was right, check the SOURCE first. Make sure this if LOWER then the SOURCE reso if you want the OUTPUT file to be smaller then the SOURCE file)
3. Framerate = 23.976fps (most vids come in this or something near this anyhow, setting them diff MIGHT affect the sound sync, not sure)
4. Audio bitrate = 128k, 44100Hz Stereo (For me the video can suck a bit, but the sound should never ever)
5. Output format = MP4 Xvid, AAC audio (our tubes can play FLAC meh? Didn't know that...)

And from a 170MB, 20 min DIVX anime file I get a 80-90MB MP4 file... icon_rolleyes.gif

Not a significant reduction but it works for me... Anything lower then that and I get my eyes and ears sore (being too used to full 640x480, high speed any file format playback on my old Axim is NOT a good thing)... thumbup.gif

Although my walkaround for the tube not having proper video playlist support (merging the saperately encoded episodic anime MP4 files using AVIDEMUX, cutting away the intro and outro of the episodes in the middle to save space) always craps the Video/Audio sync after the halfway point by around 10-15 miliseconds, give or take... sweat.gif

BUT, if you like to tweak and tweak and tweak, go for Super... For me IMHO Zune VC is good enough... biggrin.gif

Although if you need the all rare kinda sorta file support, Allok has never failed me for Single-Audio MKVs... Dual-audio MKV/OGGs are a different matter though, never really could choose the correct audio/sub stream... sweat.gif

And Xilisoft? Don't even make me come near that... I has constantly failed to render me MKV subs, even in the preview... Maybe it's a Vista problem... sweat.gif

Actually, being a free semi-Adobe Premier alternative, AVIDEMUX by itself should be good enough for you tweakers wanting to squeeze out the last bit of quality from your Tubes... It's GREAT, although the learning curve is crap near vertical IMHO... sweat.gif

@eiraku ^^ i agree with you.... super is for maximum tweak of your video... and that my point from the beginning... you should always check your source video setting first b4 you convert it... the setting i put is for generic playability... as i said... the quality might not be that good.. but it's good enuf for those who seek for long hour of playing... i notice when playing higher resolution video, the tube battery dont last long.... actually when you use super... it wont affect the sound sync... and sorry it's not FLAC it's AAC, typo... smile.gif

Added on March 11, 2009, 3:01 amguys trust me... any additional protection like the rubber cover will make the tube look bulky... smile.gif but it's definitely worth the money if you dont mind the look.. tongue.gif
*
Then you'd REALLY want to check out AVIDEMUX... It's like Super WITH video editing AND even MORE tweaking options... Plus it's open source AND free... thumbup.gif

But in terms of long battery playability, yeah I can't argue with that... 640x352 = crap battery life, say 5 episodes of 20 min anime and it's dead... sweat.gif

One of the reasons why I got an ext-USB battery pack!

Hey all... Still awake ah, so late?

Just got my own B-Jo3... Initial impression, yep it's a definite upgrade from my HPM-70s, even if it really WAS an impulse buy... sweat.gif

Oh, and my AC-8 charger died... Well, not really died, the charger tip just WON'T stay where it's supposed to be (I poke it in, it doesn't go in as far as it should, and pops out with the slightest movement)... sweat.gif

shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

Thankfully:

1) I'm back in KL and heading to LYP tomorrow, would stop by the BTS Nokia Care to give them hell about it... sweat.gif

2) I have my trusty car charger (which, for some odd reason, doesn't die as easily as the AC-8).

3) My brand spanking new external USB battery pack (I have a weakness for these things) ALSO came in the mail (not a Ted Baker, it's something new and sexily metallic) from the UK, and with it, two retractable USB charge cables and a buncha connectors (a small-tip Nokia connector included).

As of now, one is charging the Portable Power Supplies USB Battery Pack from the included power plug (which ironically can't be used with the USB charge cable + Nokia tip, for some unknown reason) and the other cable is plugged into my lappy to charge my Fate-tan.

Which solves the problem of charging her for tonite (and gives me the ability to charge my Fate-tan via USB, hurrah!)... sweat.gif

As such, will post up a quick review on the B-Jo3 (after only a night of burn-in, mind you) and the PPS Batt pack after a day of use tomorrow.

And the Bijous are crap loud at 80% on me lappy, I can hear it from here where I am tying this (and mind you the Bijous are IN my laptop sleeve, UNDER some soft socks and some cotton - just so that they won't make TOO much noise and disturb everybody else's sleep)... sweat.gif

Don't worry, I'm very well aware that the Bijou sounds best after 300 hours... biggrin.gif

Will give it a fair deal... icon_rolleyes.gif

You need the Omnia HD man... sweat.gif

But this is entirely subjective, as I find the cam on the Tube more the sufficient, although it's just that rather than anything near good. The mythical incoming V21 firmware helps on (A BIT ONLY) on that front, supposedly... :s

I got my Fate-tan because of its GREAT features/price ratio... PLUS the fact that it's a S60 phone, and improvements are but a Third-Party Program away... brows.gif

Yes,but got ppl claim that its not official firmware version, its created by other user only
*
Might just be official, the last time I heard someone say V20 on a forum/blog was exactly 1 month before it ACTUALLY came out... sweat.gif

Anyhow, what makes it scream FAKE is the fact that it has the three buttons which IMHO ONLY comes out on dev platform firmware that hasn't been finalized yet... It SHOULD have the usual two buttons when it's done... biggrin.gif

AND if they give us the Widget Standby on the 97 or even just the crap sexxay version from the latest two upcoming XM phones (forgot their names already), I'll die a happier man... biggrin.gif

Crap tired from walking at LYP earlier... Went to Berjaya Plaza NCC and settled the charger problem (it WAS the phone, AND the charger). They replaced the entire charger assembly on the phone, but was unable to do anything about replacing the AC-8 (they ran out of stock already, even AC-3s or -4s)... sweat.gif

THANKFULLY, the cheapo USB wall charger I got from LYN works for now... Plus I got the PPS USB PowerPack (works like a charm, except for a few caveats)... biggrin.gif

About the charger, my pal who just got himself a 5800 a few days back have just had his AC-8 die on him, so be careful guys and gals... hmm.gif

STILL burning-in the Bijou 3s... 24 hours passed already, another 26 to go before I start using them on a regular basis in between burn-in (aiming for at least 100hrs, 300 if possible)... biggrin.gif

Oh ya, in case nobody posted this yet, threaded SMS view freeware app for our Tubies:

Attached Image

@tachlio: The last time I tried, myphone was slow... Now it should be faster (better flash performance in v20 what).

The latest, 5800 compatible version is ONLY avaliable as a paid app though, which might put off some of us who are more "jack sparrow" at heart... sweat.gif

RM 40 should be low end. High end usually starts from 150 and above .
*
I wouldn't call my okay-okay Bijou high end (RM170), as much as I like it, I'd still say it's part of the low end... SuperFi 3s might be considered a higher example of low end IEMs (RM350) IMHO... sweat.gif

As such, I'd say RM40-100 = Entry Level, 100-300 = Low End (oh yes), 300-600 = Mid End, 600--> = High end? sweat.gif

But that's just me... biggrin.gif

And as much as I'd like to stand by the fact that I feel the 5800 has one of the best SQ I've ever gotten on a handphone, I STILL don't think it's worth pairing with anything higher then a "Low End" IEM... It's a phone, for God's sake... sweat.gif

It's not like it can drive most mid-ends IEM properly anyway... sweat.gif

bijou consider mid to high for its price tag.  Yea if u compare phone with phones 5800 XM SQ is horrible even my n95 8GB sound better. Or u try any SE phones they are anytime better. I am now only thinking whether to get the BH-503 or not?
*
Personally, I prefer the 5800 to my Bro's W980 (and my own W810i, crap boomy in comparison to the 5800)i, no idea why... Don't have an N95 to compare though... hmm.gif

But there is a certain lack of bass SOMETIMES on the 5800, although what's there is really quite tight and well-controlled. Not flabby like the bass I used to get from my W810i... nod.gif

Oh well, my ears are crap anyhow... sweat.gif

it all comes down to nudging ur friend and telling them "I bought a RM2000 headphone"...more for showing off than actually having a huge difference...

although, the altec lansing's that i got, i thought were good when i paired them with my laptop, but when i paired it with my phone, it sucked...badly...

maybe coz not enough power to push the headphones...

but then again they were only RM50
*
I wouldn't really say its SIMPLY for that ALL the time... But once you break the RM600 limit I start to question the viability myself...

There's also the question of a person's sensitivity to sound... Myself, I get vomit-y easily with the bundled earphones, OR with any headphones for that matter that outputs anything crappier then the SE HPM-70 (my baseline reference - still gives me headaches but not too bad)... biggrin.gif

Not only that, music sources can be a problem as well... For example Ipods, I don't know why but they just turn me into a dizzy mess after long periods of continuous listening time... Except maybe the first gen Shuffle, which doesn't do that for some unknown reason... Some Cowons too... sweat.gif

Funny that Sonys and Creatives don't really do that... Guess I'm tuned to Sony's brand of sound, although in regards to SE, the new W980i is oookay, but it is a bit more headache inducing compared to the older W-, even when we take into account the differences in terms of SQ (W980i has better SQ compared to the W810i, but the W980i gives me a headache faster nonetheless)... biggrin.gif

About the Bijous - crap they're mindblowingly better compared to my HPM-70 once you get EQ tweaked up to what you need (on default or even bass booster my 50 hour Bijou sounds like crap to me)... They just have so much more flexibility in handling my brand of EQ tweaking... hmm.gif

Granted, I have this thing about dark-warm bass heavy (but not overwhelming) sound signatures, so those with brighter, flatter tastes just ignore me.... whistling.gif

So guys, tweak the EQ! Tweak the EQ like the non-audiophiles that we are! thumbup.gif

I finally success to restore the sms after reset the phone, format the SD card and use my notebook to restore the sms, strange, I cant use my pc to do the restoration, maybe is because of I have two nokia phone backing up using my pc, anyway found some useful software to read and extract the nokia's back up file format NBU, though you guy should check it out, might come in handy, follow the link below...

http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discus...essage.id=13847

btw, for those who interesting in backing up sms manually, the folder is under private>1000484b, just copy the whole folder and zip it up, i have try this for my phone, should be the same for all tube.

I say this is either placebo or caching in effect... Some peeps did a benchmark before and after and there was no measurable change... sweat.gif

And yeah, I tried it out myself... The feeling of speed WAS there... Then I deleted it, rebooted, left the phone for some time and played with it again...

Same feeling of speed, surprisingly... Caching? I gave up trying to find out and focussed more on freeing more RAM instead... biggrin.gif

It could be a placebo effect but throughout the entire process of doing it I was very skeptical and was expecting it to be a hoax. Haha turns out it feels faster for me. I don't really know. If you ask me, the instructions sound ridiculous and well the menu speed thing is subjective... but as for the Gallery I can tell 100% my images are caching much faster. Cos previously it was quite laggy
*
Really, no idea... But IMHO the whole thing has been around ever since the age of the N73 (maybe even before that) and has been debunked so much as a hoax I think it can be safely considered as a Symbian Urban Legend... sweat.gif

And nobody has ever been able to scientifically prove that it works, which is a shame... brows.gif

The bass is quite tight to my ears already (pass 50hrs - still a bit boomy at times) and the initial slight harshness in the treble (near sibilance it sounds like) is slowing going away... I wonder just how much tighter it would be past 100-300hrs... I also wonder if it's just my ears getting used to the sound... hmm.gif
