QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 9 2009, 12:42 AM) tanjq87: The crossed XX version is the first version to come out, which is supposedly sharper. ExxonMobil sued Minolta for using the crossed XX so newer versions came with the XX separated. ooic... then how about beercan without the maxxum word? I just bought a beercan without the maxxum word today.Crossed XX is rarer and commands a collector value. The crossed XX version of the 50mm F1.7 is prone to sticky aperture blades; don't know about other lenses though. i compared side by side kitlens at 70mm f5.6, beercan at 70mm f4 and 16105 at 70mm f5.6, the order of sharpness is 16105>kitlens>beercan, is it normal for beercan less sharp than kitlens? but by very little, almost cannot differentiate those type, but the 16105 is much sharper than the other two. |

D stands for digital, G stands for Gold, G lens is premium grade compared to D lens.

Would a good filter (UV/CPL) serves the purpose of reducing flare as lens coatings?

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 24 2009, 01:39 AM) Seng_Kiat, a good way to check WB and exposure in bright daylight is to check the histograms. You can see if the red/green/blue histograms are 'balanced' then the WB is neutral. You can also see blinking highlights/shadows so you know whether you've overexposed or underexposed the picture. that means there are good copies and bad copies? what determine the sharpness, lens coating? cos my front element has bubbles.Any Sony flash can be used as a slave to any Alpha pop-up flash (in wireless mode). Additionally, the F58 can be mounted on the A700 and trigger the F42 and F58. Also, the F58 can be mounted on the A900 and trigger the F36, F56, F42 and F58. sidewinderz, congratulations! tanjq87, my beercan is sharp at 210mm F4. However with a close-up filter it becomes very soft! |

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 24 2009, 12:31 PM) tanjq87, sounds like you'll want to send your beercan for cleaning. Try International Camera at Pertama Complex near Sogo or Cheah Repair at Mutiara Complex Jalan Ipoh. but the bubbles do not seem to be able to clean off, it's the coatings problem i think.millenia3000, great job on the hotshoe clip bit! by the way, roughly how much does it cost to send for cleaning? |

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 24 2009, 01:30 PM) tanjq87, I have no idea but it should be under RM300. wah, it's quite expensive =.=nabelon: A F56/F42/F58 in manual power can trigger an off-camera optical slave. However the F36/F42/F56/F58 do not have traditional optical slaves; instead they only accept the Sony wireless protocol. anyway, thanks for the help alb Added on March 24, 2009, 1:54 pmhey i just found out something, why is my beercan minimum zoom is 75mm but not 70mm????????
