ok whats the point in posting a review of a hardware in lyn
when the structure itself doesnt make sense.
u post a review in the essential /guide on vague simple ideas on overclocking and its buried there. how many visitors to the overclocking section before they post actually know there is a such a topic.until they see ure nick or somebody points out. also no offence half of ure advice/guide leads to more trouble cause its unspecific and very vague and worst still with newer chipsets/hardware every changing most of them doesnt even apply.

a news section on is mandatory in hardware
since a lot of threads get started because of a repost/relink from vr-zone and other hardware forums.

a sub main thread in hardware section is just crying for help.
a structure like xs,.. with news,forum reviews,intel,amd,graphic card,general hardware etc. the whole overclocking thread other than cooling etc is actually no point. if each topic had been started as i7 topic or c2d just like xs u would have gotten wealth of info.

if a noobie comes to lowyat forum. wants to know what ram he should buy for his e8400 he just purchased and what mobo that will work with his config and he is looking for somebody with similar hardware and a group so he can discuss the pros and cons.. where is he going to look???overclocking?? posting in hardware q&a where 90% ppl who reply never had that hardware be it high-end or low-end.

i dont mind posting review but its seriously more of a e-penis show rather with the reply that i/we get from forumers. the overclocker section tends to be better but hardware.. sishh they might as well merge it with kopitiam since ppl from there eventually bring their stuff in it.

what stuff.. the tendency to scroll down the main thread and answer or reply something as much as u can as fast as u can.
its like a irc channel with this guys

but look at the way he hardware section is done and the reply we get.
breaking up each specific threads u dont get one forumer posting
fuiyoh in every thread that he/she/inbetween scrolls down.

until then posting a review is just pointless. every windwithme review threads just gets a fuiyoh. or some lame ass answer like damn etc.
nobody even ask specific question to the review or post theirs later for cooperative. if somebody does etc some idiot comes and says the same thing over and over again.

i can change hardware and set up a new rig as technology changes.. theres bound to be others who build not so on a frequent basis but they did anyway. is all my hardware the only one in lyn???

the idea of a hardware forum like xs is not just to create a forum for discussion only. its to have a world wide support forum, discussion of a specific hardware. why do u think manufacturer's rep, main brand engineers etc also are there. are we malaysians so stupid and backward that forums in china and taiwan etc which less hardware than a lyn forumer getting more support from manufacturers etc.??

in xs three mobo's i manage to help with the bios.. and a lot by ppl in xs showing support

whether its overclocking to just general compaitability.. lyn hardware forumers are as smart as they were 5 years ago as they are now.
high-end stuff last time is mid end now. in terms of price and we are heck higher paid compared to then.
3 years ago 2k gc.. u can count no of ppl in lyn that has them. now??
so again theres ample ppl in lyn. but the current sturcture etc etc is not conducive. u wont find home grown talent from lyn showing his stuff.

y i get pissed of easily.i like to help ppl when i can but do u know 7 out of the 10 ppl that come to me on how to clock this or problem solving..
half of those issue could have been avoided by them not listening to lyn forumers advice on hardware setup rather than speding time in xs on specific hardware thread to check whether this components will deliver the performance they are seeking and the pron's and cons with other hardware

the elite was not to u in particular cause was hoping u say hardware or something..was to again argue.. who the heck can be a elite etc in a hardware forum in lyn.. cause its so vague and non conducive for a person to be. shall we give pikacu for example a elite for the most amount of post in hd4000 thread or XED for defending ati with strength and honor ( actually this guy posted some interesting stuff quite a bit)

so basically most elites and vips in the hardware forums are one time ppl i guess. thats what i was trying to point out. but in other forums.. this situation is not so. windwithme is a elite.

i did a test on gc and cpu core once and wanted to show the difference and then i realized.. how stupid it is.cause things change.
even psu. look at what is happening with the x58. even some 1kw's psu's single rail etc doesnt really work with s3 states etc etc etc.

look at rams.
last time performance rams were high binned and value was just picked from a pile with jdec spec.
now
the values are no where close to performance ram.the amount of chipsets, binning, etc etc etc.. its getting more and more difficult to pinpoint
the old way of ppl saying get a value ram slap a heatsink and u can clock as well as a performance ram.
so shall we start a thread guide about value rams??
same goes for so many things.. the variety of product line.. quality etc is all becoming more and more niche.
so again whatever that was said in the past cannot be done now.

as i said before in another thread.. before 4x1gb ram vs 2x2gb. old timers were argueing 2 sticks vs 4sticks because of 1n issue and latencies etc etc etc..
asus x48 ddr3 did 4x1gb 1n....which was thought impossible.

i mean even the topic of gtl. theres no spefici answer to this.. 780,790,p35,p45,x38,x48 are all different
cause the gtl is nb chipset dependent
and for ddr3 makes it worst as its dram nb vtt, dram channel a/b dependent also.

skewing also is another topic on its on.
mike from xs once quoted that skewing other than feel even came to a point u need to check ure bios mem table settings
on drive etc to correct it as its ram chipset dependent.

its worst to give a noobie a guide that he thinks he understand and heads to the shop to buy his stuff only to face a ton of issues.

whats the point asking me .. i only know the stuff i use. thats all. havent u guys realized that. and 90 percent of what i say sometimes just from discussing in xs and me testing it out or just from conversations with some xs members and also have to credit some Singaporeans friends on mine which we exchange hardwares to test out some problems etc to single out the cause.
have u seen me giving advice on something i dont have or tested it out multi platform to find the kinks..y cause i actually do ask a lot of referral for the product and whats its capable off in specific forums/ phone calls to the distro/ emailing the company / talking to the engineer.. tech ppl.
so thats y i prep for eventual issues that might occur. its not like i solved it on my own or anything.

if u see me as a expert in hardware.. again god help lyn if the best they have is me. there should be better.
