A 4th Mad Max Is On Its Way.



If you were wondering what the status or possibility was of a 4th Mad Max movie, then I have to tell you something: you are the only one wondering. Well, you and George Miller, who still wants to bring a 4th Mad Max tale to the big screen, but in a format that's quite a bit different than the previous Max movies:

“We’ll probably go a different route,” Miller told MTV News about the potential talent voicing the lead role. The plot would be partly lifted from the script of the fourth “Max” film, which was set to shoot in 2003 until financing collapsed in the wake of the Iraq War.

Nicholas Hoult Joins Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road

Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man, upcoming Clash of the Titans) has joined the cast of George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, while Zoe Kravitz, Adelaide Clemens and the previously-reported Teresa Palmer are also in talks to come on board.

The Hollywood Reporter says the new movie is set a short while after the story detailed in 1985's Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome which keeps Mad Max relatively young.

Hoult's character is named Nux. Kravitz, whose character's name is Five Wives, Palmer and Clemens are in a convoy being chased by bad guys.

Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are starring in the film which Warner Bros. will start shooting in Australia this summer.

In an excitingly odd and unexpected twist, filmmaker George Miller is returning to the universe of "Mad Max" for his upcoming sequel "Fury Road." Tom Hardy is stepping in for the title role once filled by Mel Gibson. And Charlize Theron... well... we're not really sure what her part in the story is, other than the fact that it's a lead role.

Sadly, she's not saying anything. In fact, she's convinced that Miller or one of his lackeys is spying on her to make sure that nothing is said about the film out of school. MTV's Josh Horowitz put in his most valiant effort when he spoke to her on the red carpet at the Spike Guy's Choice Awards last weekend. She's not talking though, other than to gush about how excited she is to join this much-loved franchise.

Two Mad Max Films Shooting Back-to-Back?

Twitch is reporting that George Miller will film two "Mad Max" films:

Twitch has just learned that George Miller is working on not one but TWO new Mad Max films, the duo slated to be shot back to back. The title already known to the public is Mad Max: Fury Road and word is that Fury Road will be followed immediately by Mad Max: Furiosa. The two films will reportedly be shot back to back for rapid release.

According to reports (with confirmation expected later this week or soon), Miller will now add an additional complexity to the films: he’ll be shooting “Fury Road” (and, one presumes, “Mad Max 5″) in 3D. This new development, along with the decision to shoot two films, says IGN, will push back the film’s start date from November of this year to sometime in February of next year. Apparently Miller has always wanted to shoot a “Mad Max” film in 3D, and thanks to the current fad, he’s going to get to live out that dream.

To add to his already hectic schedule, Miller’s got “Happy Feet 2″ and “Babe 3″ also mulling about in various stages of development.

Charlize Theron Plays A One Armed Woman In Fury Road



There isn’t a ton of information out there on George Miller’s reboot of the “Mad Max” franchise, “Mad Max: Fury Road”. You know the big names who are going to play the major roles, and that there are going to be a ridiculous  (read: wonderful) number of automobiles destroyed onscreen. Aside from that, most of it is hearsay and conjecture at this point.

Australia’s ABC reports that 22-year-old Annabelle Williams, a Gold Coast freestyle swimmer, will serve as Charlize Theron’s stunt double in one fight scene.

Why is this significant? Because Williams is missing half of her left arm. Now you know that Charlize Theron’s character will be missing a portion of her arm as well. While that may not be earthshaking news, it is something, and in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, people are going to be missing some limbs.



Williams won a bronze medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and another at the 2008 Paralympics. She was checked out by a James Bond stuntman, and after receiving his blessing, Williams was shipped off to learn Muay Thai and train with an ex-member of the SAS.

Mad Max: Fury Road Delayed Again



All of us who have been hotly anticipating George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” will have to wait a little bit longer. Miller was set to begin filming this February, but The Australian  reports that the production has been delayed. This is the second delay, as unseasonal rains in July made the area where they were going to film too fertile to handle the planned stunts.



From the tone of the article, it sounds like financial restraints may be behind the postponement. While this is purely speculation, the budget for the 3D production has steadily increased over time. Whether or not that is the case, this news has hit the local economy hard, leaving hundreds unemployed.



This sucks, but for the moment “Fury Road” is still happening, though you can’t help but wonder what impact the holdup will have on the cast and crew. The fact that it has not been cancelled is heartening, but the world will have to be patient while we wait to see Tom Hardy as Max.
