Building LRT is hard nowadays, when you have UNESCO status to protect...

Penang mainland will have Komuter in theory...

Penang government, did consider running trams in George Town, using the old rails

Possible, but given Penang population (island) is not high enough and added with expensive tunneling costs, it won't make money, enough to recover at least operating cost, i think monorail is more feasible

LRT, no...all the way, Penang island is about monorail, which unfortunately, federal government delay...

There is no official plan for Komuter in Penang yet, however, the project construction company for Ipoh-Padang Besar double tracking suggest that it is possible...
