Hi all,

I have a question to those using Rebel SIM or any TurboSIM type solution to unlock their phones.

Do you experience problems receiving calls using Rebel SIM/TurboSIM?

I am using Rebel SIM at the moment for my Iphone 3G and I did not realize it until recently that over the last month, I have not received any calls but been receiving SMSes to say that there were missed calls from many numbers. So, I called myself (I have two phones) and then it realized that it all the calls go to voice mail. Then I tested using the call forwarding function, and guess what? All calls were received at the forwarded number.

This is very weird.

a) I can call out (No problems)
b) I can use data (3G, GPRS and EDGE)
c) SMSes work

But cannot receive calls even when the signal is at full bar.

I am using Maxis with unlimited 3G package. I took out the SIM and it worked fine on my other phone.

Can anyone help me on this?

Appreciate that...

Thanks.

Hi Milky,

I am using an Iphone from Japan, its locked to Softbank and already on the Firmware 2.2.1.

Shoki,

Thanks for the advice, I wanted to do that.. .but had a bad deal with the seller.

chiacy,

I guess I will try that... the 2G method. See if there are any changes... will turn on the 3G when required.

Thanks all for the suggestions and replies...

Dev Team seems to be taking so long to break the 2.2.1 firmware :-P

ur firmware is 2.2.1 what is ur baseband ?

Sadly, my baseband is the 2.30.3 and I cannot revert back to the 2.28 version.

So, I am stuck and require the SIM unlocking solution instead of the software unlocking.
