torrent is the killa.

Torrents has been around way longer, PC gaming suffers the most from this. Not consoles.

so basically the statement holds true.

it's not as bad as piracy (those people STILL buy an original game, then duplicate them illegally and distribute the illegal copies, but they STILL BUY THE ORIGINAL FIRST), but it does affect the industry.

so if really wanna support ori, buy first hand, not second hand.

and while you're at it, also buy ori music (not the download mp3 ones, that's illegal.. remember Napster vs Metallica lawsuit? ), and buy ori software (photoshop = RM 2k - 4k, go figures), and those Microsoft Words you are using, buy 'em original..

Problem is, now a days only the very minority who rips and duplicate games are reserved for the people who actually wants to rip with some sense. They support the industry still, just not entirely.

Games now are leaked from publishers themselves, belief it or not. Its been happening all these years, many of which are some disastified employee leaking the game onto torrent sites(go figure GTA4 and Halo 3).

Music wise... theres iTunes.... not like anyone cares though!

If everyone were to buy retail volumes of Adobe or MS products, they'll not be able to eat for months. Thats why these retail softwares are for companies, not personal usage.

this is why I use Open Office. Its free and I dont have to give a hoot about 'security patches' etc

dont know about consoles but pc games tend to have a limit of how many times u can install it. suck big time! u can't sell some of ur pc games due to this.

Blame SecurROM, the dumbest piece of security form that has ever surfaced on this planet. Oh while blaming them, blame the producers who use it too on their games.
Why? Because the damn thing is cracked within minutes from the game release. Whats the use of the security then? Waste of time, and limitations for the people who bought it.

and Jack Sparrow's game is still at large, especially here in Malaysia, right?

I think those who actually play the original game is the minority here in Malaysia.

how many of us have actually used 100% original softwares / games / songs / vids or whatever?

people still downloaded their mp3s using kazaa or limewire or whatever..

and not to mention torrent + high speed internet = movie / albums / games haven for everyone...


yeah, if everyone were to buy the original Adobe or MS products, they'll starve for 1 or 2 months, THAT is why most of these people goes for Jack Sparrow instead of the original thing.

kalau tak, jangan patronize or mocked those who used pirated games in Malaysia...

People who play originals are still the minority here, but if you even have done a slight bit of research, this minority has increased over the past few years.

I didn't say anything about people SHOULD GET original software licensees. I'm just implying that they are extremely expensive, and for what its worth, they are only for businesses.

Better to buy 2nd hand ORI games RATHER than buying a pirated game. Am i right, or am i right?

for me , i buy depend of the need , it if something to do with life and death , i buy ori , like a car , i woul not buy a " pirated " car compponent coz it "may" hasten my journey to my grave

for games....well.......i bought some original games ( like the rm 10 ragnarok online XD )............but most of the time i buy jack sparrow , reason? every supermarket have it.......if choose to buy ori , then have to travel here and there belum tentu jumpa.....XD

my point is , its not right to buy pirated games , but some games are not even worth buying at all , just becoz everyone hype it doesnt meant it suit you..............then after spending alot of money buying the games , u play , ....its suck.....waste money ( even if u sell it u still lost some money also)( oh yeah my most of my pokemon GBA games are originall , buy GOd version for rm 50 @___@ ).......
