Guys I need help!

Im an expat. I tried to get a credit card in CIMB and the lady at the counter told me something about Fixed Deposit of 5000 Malaysian Ringgits once my application has been approved. I asked her to explain to me what the fixed deposit is for but I dont think she speaks english that much:( I was hoping someone in here could explain it to me clearly.
