Ladies and gentlement, it's not that I spend so much in Giant, I use the card for bills and other purchases with 0.5% rebate. It's just that I have reach my limit, and I didn't notice that the rebate stopped 2 months ago until the recent statement, which is quite confusing. The cash rebate can only exchange Giant voucher which they send about RM 240 about 4 months ago and until now, the balance of RM 360 I still didn't receive, as far as I know they are supposed to send out the voucher once you hit a RM 20 rebate.

Why not get another card with cash rebates? You can switch to the new card when your Citibank-Giant rebate hits the limit.

Maybank launched the new Credit Card today: American Express Gold Credit Card. Please be noted that the point earned is Membership Rewards (MR) point.
- Free for Life
- Minimum RM36000 income.
- 5x MR point for groceries, petrol, bookstores - Kinokuniya, Borders, Times and MPH - and telco charges via Express Autopay - Celcom, Digi, Maxis and Telekom.
- 2x MR point for others.

they put the ad at their main website www.maybank2u.com.my

Quite interesting with their offers as Free for life and 5x MR points for all petrol. Just wonder the requirement they stated "(Graduate RM30000 income)", is it means for freshly graduate or Degree holder? Can someone clarify this?

Also don't know whether the 5x MR point can be attached together by Turbo point or not, if can, then will be 6x point, wow!!

@aeronlim,
I thought the Turbo point program oredi ended?! It's still on?! Damn.. when I got my Amex card the damn brochure says it's not on, so I didn't apply for it sad.gif

Graduate, RM30k income most probably mean U need to be a graduate with minimum RM30k income to apply for this Amex Gold Credit Card.

Usually graduate refers to degree holder or higher.

And by the way, apparently you must be a Maybank account holder in order to apply for this AMEX Gold Credit Card vmad.gif

I picked up the AMEX Gold Credit Card application form this morning and its states minimum income RM36,000 and no mention of Graduate.

Also the form does not state that one have to be a Maybank account holder to apply. Where you got that info?

thanks for the link

Who can apply?
Malaysians and expatriates with a minimum annual income of RM36,000 (Graduates RM30,000)
Principal cardholders: those between 21 to 65 years old
Supplementary cardholders: at least 18 years old

but no mention that need to be maybank account holder in the above link.

In the application form it does mention for online payment -

IF you have a Maybank2u log in Id, you can settle statement by logging on to www.maybank2u.com

There is no other reference to maybank account besides the above.

@Gen-X,
Scroll down. There is a Note that states U need to be a Maybank Account Holder. Am wondering if that is referring to something else but doesn't seem like it *shrugs*

well you guys are right as far as the "Note" in maybank website but none stated in application form nor at American Express Malaysia website.

So I called the number 603-22958877 mentioned in FAQ from link given by he-sham and spoke to a guy there. Good news, you don't have to be a maybank account holder and you can just fax the application form to him directly with just a photocopy of your credit card and no need submit the other troublesome documents.

i just applied AMEX Gold CC from maybank....if u're existing maybank cc cardholder & Saving account, no need any document...just fax them back only the application form....

this card is good...becoz it combine all the benefits....... no need to choose between rates,rebates & rewards like Alliance bank younique CC....all in one card...(of coz no rebates la...but still ok what)...

i hope can get this card ASAP...so that can register for the AMEX 8x points promotion for petrol & groceries.....
