Just now go Maybank applied a classic card for my wife but they told MAYBANK DO NOT OFFER CLASSIC CARD ALREADY NOW. I was like wtf? are u kidding me? and the officer there keep on pushing for the Ikhwan Gold card and Petronas card to us. Frustrated then went on to other branch also the same. They say now Maybank only concentrate on Ikhwan and Petronas card so other cards not available. Maybank you seriously need to buck up your service here. At the same day, i went to cimb and applied the World Mastercard. Their service is FAST, PROMPT AND EFFICIENT. Cimb is really good.
*
aiyo... nowadays the Petronas n Ikhwan = classic card lo... there is no need for u to be angry...

save ur energy to do other more useful thing lo...

Think it's a credit + debit card. So you can choose to pay via credit or ur current account. Can also use at ATM's to choose between cash advance and withdrawal from current a/c
*
oh... so conflicting to each other...

pay by CC or debit card got any different? timing difference?

the highlight 1 is a trap! if my ac got money, why would i wan choose cash advance? it's charging RM50 le.... unless ac is short of $. sweat.gif

from my observation, it's depends on the type of vendor machine is being used.

The jasco @ Wangsa Maju is using Maybank OLD machine and it's take many many seconds to waits for approval n receipt printed.

while the Carrefour of Wangsa Maju which also using Maybank NEW machine is fast, it's less than 5 second to get receipt printed out.

never impressive with DA customer service.

giving lame excuses only, very good at "Tai Chi"

and it's never solve my problem!!!

Well yea, DA is a decent card, but recognition can be a problem. I had this Toyota fella asking "Direct Acces boleh?" for some instalment plan, when I kept trying to tell him it was a CIMB card -.-
*
Direct Access is only targeted at professional market... and it's normal tht not all people will know about DA.

you cant blame the toyota fella, probaly he seldom o never see DA's advertisement.

just be confidence with what u have...

This card works best if you always buy things from Sony Wings. Well, there's so many cards out there which are free. Customer will just walk out unless banks match the "Free for Life" offer.

For example, HSBC offered me a 5 years annual fee waiver when I wanted to cancel. I was with them for only 2 years I think.
*
oh... really? my HSBC is going to expire next year soon... see whether i can get CL increase n also 5 years annual fee waiver or not...

I am thinking to reduce my CL for my Alliance's cc Cash Back card as I only intend to use up to a max of RM6K. (Cash back is only applicable for RM5K per month)

Would this improve my credit risk ? Need a second opinion ..
*
i wanted to know too... wondering y my hsbc amanah application was rejected.

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 13 2009, 09:31 AM)
@hye,
Yes & No.  I've been informed, banks generally do not know what your overall CL is - they only know what cards you're holding.
*
more card = more risk?

This is normal like MilesAndMore mentioned. Most merchant terminals will display your 16 digit cc on the merchant copy but not on your copy. Some terminals will not display all 16 but only the last 4 digits. (But I can't remember which bank ... maybe it is HSBC terminals only will this happen)

I have been watching my slips for the last couple of months since this subject was bought up some time back by another forummer.
*
yes. im also noted this.

Best is to ensure u don't leave those slips lying down anywhere biggrin.gif  Dispose them off properly if U do decide to throw them away biggrin.gif

yes.

sometime, when see the merchant copy which have 16 digits number, feel very un-secure. expose to uncertain liability.

what im talking about is "merchant copy" the receipt which have our signature.

while customer copy most / all did not show all 16 digits.

I'm not particularly worried about my cc being "cloned" like in the old days just because someone knew my cc 16 digits. However, I'm concerned about those scams that you will always get via the phone - recently TheStar reveals that these info can be bought cheaply.

They suspect someone within the industry itself is providing this info to these cold calls companies.
Although I have confidence with bank's cc dispute resolution system but it is always good to be safe. For years, I have made a practice to destroy (via shredding or tear into small pieces) my old cc slips after a while.
*
hmmm... i should bring my CC receipts to office for shredding.

Hi everyone,

Is me again. I just wish to share my joy and also terrible experience with OCBC Robinsons VISA.

Joy, I managed to request for Annual Fee (AF) waiver for this year only - saving 300.  rclxms.gif

Pain, the actual annual fee waiver terms and conditions are to utilise the card by spending 1000 @ robinsons and 7000 @ other merchants per annuam. And "Some" of the call executives are not helpful at all (like suggestion on how to appeal and etc).

How I did it, I have saved by this link http://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/Ca...Privileges.shtm (special thanks to b00n who posted and shared the link in this thread). For those who have the similar problem with AF waiver, please call now to get the waiver, because the link is still valid and they are going to remove the page permenantly soon.

The link is a promotion with special AF waiver conditions which you are entitled to get the waiver with at least 3 transaction at robinsons. But this promotion is actually ended 31 Dec 2008 according to the call centre; but the link is still active, that why I am saved from the AF charges.

Cheers and good luck.
*
bro, it's PLATINIUM. so AF is tht high. You're lucky, got double check with the ocbc website!
last time, the ocbc agent approached me and im just saja want to bluff him off by saying can you get me Robinson Plat or not, and he said he can do it for me.

and im really got it, with RM4k CL limits. after 3 months i cancel the card by just fax in the cancellation form and the next few days, it's cancel.

QUOTE(hlliew @ May 15 2009, 03:29 PM)
Hi,

Meh Citibank told me I can only get a regular card since I don't meet their min requirement for a gold. Was hoping my high claims (mileage) per month would do the trick, but they told me to use a regular for 6 months then request for upgrade -.-

Oh well
*
y bother to get 1.

the more u wanted, the less hope u will get it...

when u dun want, it will come to you.

I just got my Maybank Islamic Ikhward Visa card. About 3 weeks ago.
Use 12 times per year and annual fee would be waved.

The good thing is that the interest fee is not compounded..
*
bro, islamic CC did not charge interest fee... instead some other name will replce it...

for HSBC it called management charge, if im not wrong.

nowadays the credit card features are getting more advance n sound modern, but too bad, the people who handle the machine is lack of training and dun know how to operates it... sweat.gif
