I have never heard Amex has installment plan  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Yes, Amex now got promotion for FPP with no interest or hadling fee charges.
Minimum spend RM1k and above, can convert to 6 months installment plan.
But it is applicable for Amex charge card only and this promotion will ended on 31st March 2009.
Dun know if Amex will extend this promotion further???

Thanks for the feedback. Let say I have an unused CC, I forgot to cancel it after reached 1 year and bank already charged me annual fee. Do I still need to pay the fee if I cancel the card?
*
cc's AF usually are negotiable in the market,u may contact ur issuer and try to talk with them.
But if u cancel the cc with zero trasaction within a year, the issuer might put ur name in bad record with their internal system. They wont approve ur cc in the future if u want to apply with them again.

Well ... let's make this simple. You just submit your application and see what is the bank's response. And don't forget your current 3 months slip. I think despite the circumstances, you stand a good chance to be approved (with entry level credit limit) if your salary slips is indicating a regular RM1.5K min for the last 3 month.

Don't quote me and do remember that different bank and different cc have different set of rules which they approve the applicants. Obviously if you attempted to apply for a Gold card or higher - you stand a good chance of being rejected. The idea is to have a cc and work yourself up from there.

The senior guys here will tell you the same thing. Even, I myself had a RM3K limit many years ago. If anyone here thinks the bank will grant you a magic credit card ... dream on !

hye,
Agreed with u. nod.gif
My 1st cc approved in my life CL only RM2k...... sweat.gif

Thanks RockIron. Do you know how many transaction we need in order not to have bad record?

Hi,
At least few times with regardless amount and try to avoid zero transaction.
Many of my friends experiance this issue nowadays.
Hope it's not cc issuers new terms & conditions. sweat.gif

Alliance bank customer support ask me to swipe my gold card at least 12x per year to enjoy yearly fee waive while on that particular year while EON bank ask me to swipe my platinum card 24x per year for a yearly fee waive irregardless of what amount. Does other bank also moving to this direction as well for a yearly fee waiver?
*
Hi kuya,
I think EON bank platinum cc need to swipe 36 times instead of 24.
24 times only applicable for their gold cc.

i can confirm with you that MBB can temporary increase limit by time frame. You need to tell them that you're going aboard and wish to have extra limit for unforeseen expenses. By right the CS will ask you when you are going and coming back. Double check with the CS.
*
Reventon,
Agreed with what u hav mentioned.
Comfirm can apply for temporary CL increase with MBB cc.

Can MBB increase our credit limit twice in 3 months? Cos i just increased my limit las month but i found it was insufficient for my spending. furthermore going to Australia next month ...can they increase it again ehh
*
Hi leyley,
It's subject to approval.
But as I know they hardly approve another CL increase within 6 month period.
No harm try to request from them anyway.
Wish u good luck.
