QUOTE(geekster129 @ Mar 3 2009, 03:28 PM) Sometimes, I realized Singaporean production is slightly better than local production. Malaysian drama, especially chinese drama just looks lame. The camera work is good. The editing work is good. The graphics are good, the girls are pretty, the guys are handsome, but the storyline sucked. That's because we got BAD WRITERS! There is not one writer that is that good! I mean, Yasmin Ahmad's films... well, some are good and some are just "huh?!?!" for me... but seriously no good writers in Malaysia...

I think Malay actors are more natural in terms of screenplay than local Chinese actors.

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Mar 3 2009, 03:30 PM) what Yasmin ahmad film made u go "huh?" "Gubra". I mean, I like Sepet... but Gubra just... feels so plain and uninteresting. I skip Mukhsin and wanted to watch Muallaf but it's going to show in Singapore... and not here... Added on March 3, 2009, 3:33 pmQUOTE(geekster129 @ Mar 3 2009, 03:32 PM) I think Malay actors are more natural in terms of screenplay than local Chinese actors. I dunno... I watch many films in my life time but it's hard for me to watch local Malay movies at one sitting except Sepet. It just don't work much for me... QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Mar 3 2009, 03:39 PM) I just prefer HK films than Hollywood because of my nature HK films these days are very disappointing to me. Nothing so far really stands out (except those big budgets... but then, I didn't watch them too). The 80s and the 90s used to have some good ones... wonder why now it doesn't...

Same to Cantonese music, 1970's are better than the current one.. The current one, sounds like an imitation of western/japanese style
