hi all, need some pointers from the nvidia master here.
i'm planning to buy a Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX or Geforce GTX 275, the specs for both cards says the slot is PCIE 2.0 x16, but my motherboard is Asus P5ld2-SE, which only have a PCIE x16 slot (it should be PCIE 1.0 x16), so can my board work with the above mentioned card??
Thanks!

QUOTE(ooiwbng @ Jul 9 2009, 09:51 AM) yes, u shld be able to work it but there will be a little bottleneck since the card it PCIE 2.0 whereas your mobo is PCIE 1.0 thats good to hear. coz currently my 8800GT is goin into power saving mode when playing Anno 1404, everything just goes black, then u can hear the sound loop, after that, need to hard reset, then you can hear 3 beeps from the motherboard and it wont boot up window. whole thing just stay black, THEN, need to shut down the whole cpu power, only then can turn on and boot normally into window. so anyone have this kind of problem?? any way to fix it? BTW, my PSU is 500W. Intel Pentium D 3.0 Ghz. 2gig RAM. Asus P5LD2-SE Mobo. could this be a power wattage problem?? Thanks Again!

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 9 2009, 11:37 AM) Most probelm should be your Ram problem or mobo Bios problem....BTW your Processor is Pentium D also...your 8800GT only works like 8600GT only for sure because the bottleneck is too huge to your GC .....slow slow slow Hah?! really ah?? then even if i buy GTX275 also only works like 9800gtx only?? Added on July 9, 2009, 11:48 amQUOTE(PootieTang_85 @ Jul 9 2009, 10:59 AM) i think it's the power insufficient problem. do take in consideration what's the recommended power to the gc..maybe u missed it..and also the current rating your psu can supply. normally, real power or continuous power psu(which is more then average psu) got no problem, they built for those power hungry system. my current PSU is ACBEL 500w, thats whats printed on the sticker. so actually how to calculate real power or continuous power?? QUOTE(kamechi @ Jul 9 2009, 12:37 PM) omgggg then ma need to change mobo n proc also lo? pity my wallet....T_T yalah, looks like need to change mobo n proc. my wallet will commit suicde man!! Added on July 9, 2009, 2:39 pmQUOTE(Xehanort @ Jul 9 2009, 01:07 PM) if ur mobo is LGA775 & latest core2duo/pentium dual core can fit it then no need change mobo altho my mobo can support C2D, but i think the problem i'm currently facing with my 8800gt shutting down when i play some games like Anno 1404, might have something to do with my mobo being unstable.
